paultheroyal Out of interest, can anyone name any loaned out players, which can be be from any club, going to any club that turned out ultimately to be excellent players and then picked up large transfer fees or glowing reports.

Top of my head i can only think of one, and that's our very own Matthew Upson.

People talk about Davies coming back an excellent player etc etc, but if you have it, you surely have it and dont need to be loaned out for that surely?

dont think the lad deserved to be dropped from the squad, let alone get loaned out
but there you go

Davies scores twice for Wycombe, both long-range efforts

One of the best moments of yesterday was Davies juggling the ball in an arced run before taking a vollied shot at goal.

The guy is an absolute class act and was Man Of The Match by a country mile.

He is by far the best central midfielder I have seen in Wycombe colours in a long time.

Seems like he's taken the trait of falling away in the second half with him, though.

Mrs Franchise is VERY distressed.

James Henry scored for Millwall in the last few minutes to give them a 2-1 win.

Why did Davies leave? In the performances I saw of him, he looked impressive and didn't do much wrong.

I'm not sure he's championship level yet, and his passing is a tad suspect. He'd be a good option for the role Sig is currently playing though.

YES. Kebe or McAnuff on the left and Davies on the right with his ludicrous pace and long shot would be great.

But I think I'd rather have Sig in the side tbh, played well (yet again) yesterday.

Definitely agree. Siggy has been the main positive to come out of this season so far for me. Amazing to think he's just turned 20. But Davies would be a good option on the bench IMO.

Sig, Howard & Matejovsky are all, for me, players to fill the same gap. Sig is playing well, but kind of wasted out wide IMO. Howard also currently being played in a role that doesn't suit him too much, although it's currently working.

IMO in the long term I think three's a crowd, but I'm not sure who I think it would be best to lose. On the whole I'm probably leaning towards Howard, but could quite easily see Matejovsky get picked up in January or the summer by a bigger club if he plays well and in plenty of games. He's also probably the highest earner and not so much better than the other two as to make me cry if he went.

I am actively excited about the prospect of Sig, Karacan and Davies playing together potentially for many seasons given their age.

I disagree with you IR, for the first time since Sidwell left I think we have a really well balanced midfield. There's pace and trickery with McAnuff, creativity with Marek, tenacity and a left foot with Howard, and Sig on the left is able to drift inside to help cover for Matejovsky. It's working well for us right now, and if we can a decent striker in on loan we'll be laughing.

We'll have to agree to differ. It's definitely doing a job right now, but it's a make do combination IMO.

I'd rather see Karacan in for Howard. One of our better performers this season and he provides a bit more hard work and steel alongside Matejovsky.

He's also clearly part of the squad. Did you see the way he sprinted over to jump on Jobi when he scored?

Loved that. He's got such enthusiasm.

One of my favourite players - may get his name on the back of my shirt...

That's a point actually, the spirit in the side looks fantastic, the reaction when they score shows how much they care.

LOL! I loved seeing that. They should do it more. It's as entertaining as seeing the goal go in.
