I'm hoping he is suggesting there has been progress in the rumoured talks.

Apparently they have. I understand that a sale price has now been agreed, how long it takes from this point is anyone's guess, but I would hope it is all done and dusted by January.

Can't say. I know this probably sounds like bollocks, and I don't blame you for not believing, I'm struggling to myself, but if my guy's right then we should have new owners in soon.

Isn't the concern here that by all accounts the sale price has never been the stumbling block in terms of a possible sale.

My understanding is that previous possible deals have foundered on matters other than the pure cash valuation of the club so a putatuve 'agreed price' means little if the other issues are still live.

It seems you're widely trusted on this forum so I take your word on it. Question for you though...

Struggling to believe because we're about to be taken over (which in all fairness has been on the cards of a while now)?
or
Struggling to believe because the new owner is very high profile and has a grand ol' loada wedge?

I would say that RFC would be an ideal purchase for Sir Richard Branson... supporting the underdog and all. :D

TBH it's really just a case of me being sceptical about it all going through without any hitches.

Wouldn't he have to be away longer than three months? I seem to recall his absense back in 99(?) when we were teetering with relegation to the then third division. An East Stand revolt at the final whistle demanding the Chairman came out and answered their questions followed, but they were ushered away because John Madejski was in Kuala Lumpar?
