Gylfi Thor Sigurdsson then hit the first of his two goals with quarter of an hour gone, dancing past three defenders before finding the net from 25 metres.

 Why can't he do that for us!

I imagine the standard of Icelandic U21s v San Marion U21s < standard of Championship.

To be fair he has done. His goal against Burton in the LC was from about 40yds!

Agree, San marino U21 << Burton << Championship, but at least he likes to shoot from range.

Definitiely one of the few bright spots in an abysmal season so far. Let's hope we can keep hold of him.

The best young player to have come through our ranks in the last 20 years.

'greed

Hopefully he will start being played in his natural position, just behind the striker soon.

Try and get some perspective Focher. You are comparing Taylor, Lovell and Williams when they were established with The Sig who is only now starting to make his way. TBF, Williams was very ordinary when he started out. Unfortunately, we haven't seen too many youngsters come through over the last 20 years and be successful. I hate to say this but I actually agree with w_r for once.

Half his games have been on the left wing. Stick him in the middle and he might have more chance. He has scored twice for us this season and got 4 assists.

Agreed, get rid of Marek stick Sig in the middle and bring Kebe back onto the wing.

Will give us natural width on both sides and get Sig in his correct position.

Which brings us back to the enigma that is Kebe. It also shows how desperate things are getting.

I think Church will be as good as Gylfi.

Sadly, the wrong end of the Championship is not the place to cut your teeth. Unfortunately, the pressure is on to get results and to pull away from the depths. We need to get to mid table obscurity and then give the kids the chance to impress without unnecessary pressure.

Don't think we're quite ready to be fiddling with the team again yet. And I certainly don't think we're ready to be playing two wingers again. If a few more games once we've put some results together, maybe.

I'm looking for a partnership of Karacan and Siggurdsson in the middle next season. With Davies either wide right or playing centrally in a three man midfield with them.

Sigurdsson scored goals number two and four and set up the last.

Gylfi is a star
Genuine two footed player who would be comfortable wherever he is asked to play

Indeed. But being a jack of all trades and master of none does nothing for long termism. He needs to nail a position as his own.

Attacking central midfielder. Where he has been best for us this season and generally plays. He's playing on the left for us at the moment, because he's too good to drop, we can't afford the luxury of two wingers and he's best suited of the others to play there.
