Feel really sorry for the Irish, would have loved to see them go through, they deserve it.

Henry, hold your head in shame...

Henry, I felt, was a beacon of fair play during his time in the Premier League. The man was held in high regard in Harris Towers, and he has now plummeted down a long way after that. I'm sure Mr Henry will be feeling absolutely gutted at this latter revelation.

If Ireland had taken one of those chances though it wouldn't of come to this.

Agreed re the regard in which Henry will now be held.

On Royalee's comment re his abilities, however - the Fink Tank (The Times) mapped Europe's players for pretty much every facet of the game, and a certain T. Henry came out as the most effective player Europe over the last 12 months.

Never liked Henry, a joy to watch when on form but an absolute whinging cry baby when not. Not so disimilar to Fabregas these days.

Commiserations to Ireland, if I was in their situation I would probably be close to tears. Probably shouldn't have been playing France in the first place, Platini will be rubbing his hands now. France will go onto win it next summer now, mark my words.

On a seperate note, congrats to Algeria. A sense of justice following the heart renching way that qualification seemed to be snatched off them. Takes a lot of bollocks to bounce from that!

I hate Henry, always have.

But he did what had to be done. His team that he carries on his shoulders have won, nothing else will matter to him.

Fair play.

Still a cnut though....

Surely people should be having a go at the officials, not Henry....i'm sure in that split moment he just instinctively stuck his hand out and handled the ball BUT as anyone who plays football knows........you play until the whistle, if the ref or lino didn't spot it - whats Henry to do???

There has to be some place in the game for honour and sportsmanship.

I know but you see players handling the ball all the time, what about giving fouls away, how about when a player is clean through on goal and taken out but a penalty is not given.........is all that classed as cheating or just bad luck???

If they just introduce video replies then none of this would be a problem. It would have taken the 4th official 10 seconds to spot it was handball and then a free kick could be given and Henry would no longer be a cheat.

LOL @ the Irish demanding the game be replayed

There's no honour in defeat.

Ireland should have taken their chances...

Cue all the cries for technology, 18 referee's, goal line judges, cheating etc

Henry first handball was instinctive, 2nd was deliberate, but thats football. Job of the referee to spot it, he missed it as did his assistant and from their positions taken up you can see why.

Henry will be lynched, conspiracy theories will be going strong, but the bottom line is Ireland are out and France are through.
