it will be a terrible game, we will play really bad and at 89th minute we will concede a penalty which they will score...........and then Brendan Rogers will be interviewed on BBC Radio Berkshire afterwards and say how we looked so good going forward and ther were many positives to be had from the game and which point Tim Dellor pulls out a gun and you hear a loud bang over the airwaves; he has just commited suicide ! :D

I must be old fashioned, I had hoped my team would win because it's a well run club, with better players, playing in a clever tactical system, at home, lead by an astute manager!

It seems the overiding opions are that we will lose again and if we draw we'll have done well and if we were to win it would be because,

'we are owed one, and it's about time, and we have lost so many times before that this, must be the game to break our poor home form cycle'

I don't know about you, but I had higher expectations that this!

I'm not too sure on score line.....1-1...maybe.

What I am absolutely 110% sure about is...we will not score more than Blackpool.

2 0 Reading.

The corner is starting to be turned and the home crowd will finally get the result they deserve.

Blackpool are a decent team. Effective is the word I'd use. I wish BR would take note of that. All the teams that do well in this league are effective, nothing more.

0-0, not bad enough to sack Rodgers, not good enough to generate any confidence in anyone, we drift onwards.......

Your point one, utter cock. (no offence) there is no devine right of result, deserved or otherwise!

Your point two, extremely valid, I tried to make the same point before on another thread, this is a major clash of football philosophies. BR is either a genius or deluded. IH is a journeyman, percentage playing, old school, kick arse manager, with more smarts than for which he is given credit.

He could have been our manager and who wouldn't change league places with Blackpool today?

Jeezy christ.

The points not cock at all. The fans have been great, any other club would have had the chairs ripped up by now. Home performances have been getting better, we should feel like we good win and it would be great for the fans.

So exactly what about that is cock?

The bookies think we'll win at last ....... 5/4 Reading, 12/5 Blackpool, 12/5 the draw.
The draw looks a good bet on latest form but maybe, just maybe, we'll finally win at last. Rasiak to handle the ball, ref misses it, Church scores.

My dear SKDD the reason that your point one is cock is because as I understand it the meaning of the word, "deserves" is "to be worthy of"

The long suffering, extremely tolerant fans, (no matter how worthy or deserving) will not change the outcome of the result on Saturday.

Ask any Irishman about the difference between deserve and delivery!

Blimey, the 'real debate' at last! I'm quite well aware of the general situation and the expected responses, reasons, excuses etc. But, when you boil it all down it's like ignoring the 'elephant in the room'

We have come to expect more, this has been encouraged by the club and refelected in higher prices, better facilities and more opportunities for them to dip their corporate hand in the supporters pockets.

That's all well and good when you are doing well, but when the team struggles we are expected to keep schtum and understand, actually I don't feel much like being understanding!

Organic growth, rather than the shit or bust approach would have been nice, we were never promised or sold mediocrity.

If it had been a product I would have exercised my retail rights for a refund!

Why should a team without a home win since January, in the relegation zone expect a win against one of the consistently best sides in the division. The answer is, they shouldn't. Forget where we've spent the last 5 years. Forget where Blackpool have spent the last 5 years.
They HAVE to be favourites for this. Therefore a draw is a decent result.

You can't simply wave a magic stick and turn around poor form. Not even in a very talented and experienced squad. We have a good squad and good players, but they're mostly inexperienced. Confidence and form plays an absolutely HUGE part in football.

Our recovery is a gradual process. First we need improved performances to encourage confidence, then a run of better results. Once there we can build a proper run of good results that lift us out of relegation and up to mid-table.

The process has begun, we're in a decent position to push on. Defeat agains Blackpool is not the end of the world. A victory would be most excellent and a draw is a decent result that begins to build us a decent unbeaten run from which we can start to really regain our confidence and form and push on.
