Winchester Royal Hahnemann, Murty, Shorey, Sonko, Ingimarsson, Little, Convey, Sidwell, Harper, Kitson, Doyle.

Obviously chosen, but there is no question really... That team is so nice to read.

Every player contributes in that team. Wouldn't of done it any differently. That team took several seasons to create, and they almost 'grew up' together.

A joy to watch and they made me proud to be a fan.

And doesn't it just roll off the tongue?

Only doubts were Hunt for Convey and Lita in place of Kitson. But that would just be wrong.

Lita in place of Kitson!!! Are you insane? Kitson got damn near 1 goal every 2 games for us and was top scorer in the three full seasons he played for us. He also had a lot more to his game than scoring goals, unlike Lita.

Lita had two very good, but pretty short scoring spurts in 4 years.

It depends how far back people are going when picking their team, I'm only including players that have played in the last ten years.
I've only been watching Reading since 1985 so I wouldn't be able to pick Steve Death, but I agree with Senior and Hicks. For me Kitson would struggle as I would also consider other forwards such as Morley and Quinn.

I'll shamefacedly admit a Jimmy Q

but would raise you a Kerry Dixon

Thats exactly the reason I've only gone back ten years. Otherwise I'd spend all night on "discussing" my choices!

As this decade is about to end I think that it's appropriate that the thread is about the last ten years.

To avoid confusion have adjusted the title of thread.

Might be an interesting excercise in nostalgia to do one for each decade so when this one is done we can have a debate going back for the 90's 80's 70's and beyond.

That's not a bad idea.

I see your understanding of decade and century are similar to your understanding of football.

This is the best team of the 00's as demonstrated by the medals and trophy. You could tinker with it by bringing in the likes of Upson, Cureton, Forster, Hunt etc but there's no gaurantee that upgrading any one individual would result in a better overal team performance.
