Einstein agogo i laugh at the " i'm too good for reading " mentality of these players who have all gone nowhere in the prem

Z175 It certainly shows that the 106 / 8th place team were greater than the sum of their parts.
Which is why it was totally inept boardroom management to increase the wages paid to this team from £12,000,000 to over £30,000,000 in wages over this period.

CMRoyal Sidwell and Doyle are exceptions. Apart from that, every time one of the 106 team sinks back to their natural level, it only increases the standing of the man who gelled them all together.

laughable to suggest that doubling their wages upon promotion to the prem- when we more than doubled our income, was inept.its market forces.
in fact what has happened since just confirms- if we had not doubled their wages-all of those players would have gone to other teams, and we would have been left with a rebuilding job in our very first year in the top flight-probably reducing our stay there by one year, and definitely reducing our 8th place finish to a lower bottom half one.
i suggest not rewarding those players, not keeping them happy here- that would have been the inept thing to do.

Barry the bird boggler Read the thread, its developed along the lines of the value of the 106 team and not about Shorey specifically.

Increasing the salary may have been a bit dim, but really it worked well the first season in the Premiership and then was screwed by
a) SC failing to replace Little and Sidwell
b) Performances from some of th eplayers who seemed to think they were proven and could cruise it
c) SC showing too much loyalty to those players
