So it was bollocks then. And thanks I was well aware Sol Campbell isn't at a club hence I said "contract anulled"... not sure why you thought to mention that :|

Your point about Campbell included a question. Apologies for picking up on that and musing about his situation. Might be worth you indicating in posts which bits you wish to be responded to and which not. It would be a Christian thing to do....

If RFC believe they can sign the guy I suspect they know more about his situation than we do (surprisingly) but I'm reasonably sure we can't sign loan players from outside England and we can;t sign people who weren't free agents in September. As alluded to earlier they may be other scenarios which mean we can sign him and play him. We shall know within 24 hours or so !

Isn't that by one account, whereas by another we may.

And what is said to the press may or may not reflect what the actual plan is....

Sources close to the club tell me the plan is to agree terms and then he'll stay with us until he can actually sign in January

That was what I would have expected to happen if he is unable to actually turn out for us. He can just remain on trial up until january and play in reserve and train with us to maintain fitness.

I expect Reading to make NO loan signings today, therefore we will have to work with what we've got up front which is a fully fit Rasiak and Long and Church coming back after minor knocks.

Mooney's loan ends in a couple of weeks I think so he'll most probably be back as well therefore I reckon the club will see themselves as covered if there is an injury so why waste money now when you can hold until January and waste it then (presuming someone wants to buy one of our players)?

And if we do sign Thorvaldsson I reckon we'll have to have a Cod day or something to celebrate our Icelandishness.....

Viktor Illugasson.

He was shite. Didnt score many for the U18s or the ressies. Went on loan to eastbourne, got injured and then couldn't break into their first team. Returned to us from the loan and then got released to Valur in Iceland.

Perhaps the poor old Chairman's got a bit confused and thinks he's got the opportunity for a regular spot on the telly:

The cut price alternative to Waitrose; 'Madejski's gone to Iceland'.

Also good to see Vasilev get a run out.

Wasn't he being touted as the best thing to come out of Bulgaria since............something good from Bulgaria.

Yep, very highly rated. Been given a squad number too. He's been out injured for 8months or so with a torn muscle. He's a young creative link up striker and he was going to be sent out on loan to a league 2 team just before he got injured. Wouldn't surprise me to see him out on loan in january if he can get his match sharpness up.
