Irvinchangeyaname I'd like to throw Gunnarsson into the mix. I think his bad games have been few and far between (actually the bad ones have been awful - Pompey away?) but I think he's been a very solid performer generally. Can fill in wherever asked and, despite a lack of pace, will put his boot in for the cause.

One of his best performances was last season at Cardiff, when we were down to ten men, the only problem is, can he last 90 mins?

Stuart Beavon rarely gets a mention but was a terrific player in a side that, for the most part, played long ball.

He always to score important goals for us too. Didn't he score a brace against Sheff U in the 106 season and an equaliser at old trafford that forced a replay in the cup?

Not sure if I've got my facts right here, but wehn we got promoted under McGhee, we had a Millwall defender on loan (Tony Witter?) who broke his leg and still managed to play on for the remainder of the match? I think he helped us keep quite a few clean sheets too? Or is my memory hazy?

Yep all of the above

Colin Baillie, Gary Peters, Brynjar, Stevie Richardson et al

My contribution, in addition to these, would be our physio at Newport that saved Andy Rodgers life.

Think the name you are looking for is Glenn Hunter.

How about adding in Dean Horrix , Kevin Bremner, and Steve Wood from that period, all played their part in that team that won 13 games in a row.

I always quite liked Neil Smith.

Never let us down and normally slotted in quite easily.

I know that this is going back a long time - too early for many - but I would nominate Rod Thornhill, a hard working midfielder,

Grant you that it was Swansea, I wasn't there (I had good reason not be.....and the grey matter merges with reality and fantasy these days), and as Royallad says..it was actually Glenn Hunter

I always thought Lawrie Sanchez never got the credit he deserved when playing with us, considering he was a teenager for most of that time. Shame he turned out to be a long-ball-not-very-imaginative-manager !
