After today's game, and if I was a betting man, Id bet on Church to score before Long. Indeed, if we do get a first team striker in the next week, wouldnt be surprised if we dont see Shane on the pitch for a while.

REALLY missed Doyle today, if you can allow me to say something obvious.

True.
But Church WILL play again in the near future.
Rumours are we are in the market for another striker. That leaves Shane with the very definite prospect of being 4th choice again, unless he starts showing some reason to play him. Church will get at least a bench place, though.

Yes but long needs to play in a 442 type formation with a senior striker - he's got a lot to learn - and I dont think he's going to get that with the way we're set up at the moment.

Think we should call it a 0-0 draw between the two of them. :|

What do you mean "IF I was a betting man"?
Are you a reformed character these days DrH or is NH (not Noel Hunt but you will know what I mean) still your biggest interest?

Alan Partridge Shane Long v Simon Church aka Dump and Dumper

Yep. Both absolutely WOEFUL.

Snowball's gone quiet. Maybe he's adding up Shane's 'shots per minutes' ratio.

What a class goal by Lita yesterday for joint top Middlesbrough btw.

Hardly a fair comparison seeing as Long has been injured for about the last 4 games when we've finally got some service going and started scoring.

You don't think he is doing enough to be driving around in his BMW 335i convertible and Range Rover Sport then?!

End of this season

As for the Church Vs Long watch.

Church wins by default as long doesn't qualify as a footballer.

Makes you sick, doesn't it.

But then again, fair play to the lad. Whats it been, 4 years on that sort of money. More money than I've earned in twenty years.

What makes me sick is that he hasn't learnt a dam thing since he arrived here. He's just got fat and lazy.

Long has always been second or third choice at Reading the lad has never been given a run in the team for any length of time to prove what he can do.

Give him 10 games when he starts then judge him.

Nonsense. He was behind Doyle, Kitson and Hunt. He's now behind Hunt, Rasiak and Church - when we don't have injuries.

Give him 10 games and he'll come good... always hear that. More nonsense.

Can you think why, the whole time shane long has been with us, has no manager has given him this opportunity?
