SPECULATION - James Beattie

by Binfield Royal » 08 Dec 2009 15:14

James Beattie is looking for a move away from Stoke after his bust up with manager Tony Pulis

Would be a good loan move or with January looming, how much would they sell him for? He has played in the Championship before (Blades) so shouldn't be averse to it and at 31, is he going to get another Prem club?

Would be an excellent signing but doubt he would come.

I can see him ending up at Newcastle. There's no way he would want to come here, let alone Reading being able to pay his wages

To be honest I dont think that Newcastle need another striker (although I suppose you can never have enough). Would be a fantastic signing for us but I agree that 1) he would never come here in a million years and 2) WWBAP.

Think he could end up at Watford maybe? Preston? Someone who is pushing for promotion.

Realism is that we wouldnt go anywhere near him - cant see Egoman taking his potential wages onto wage bill when we are the poor paupers now - however it would be a fantastic opportunity for Egoman to roll out that now famous garb - "this signing shows our ambition and intention to get into the premiership...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

He's a loathsome scumbag.

But I guess we'll take anyone who can keep us up.

Speaking of loathsome scumbags, Lee Hughes would be cheaper. We need a bit of the bastard spirit in our team.

His top quality comments all of, ooh, one game into the season that "apparently" led Southampton's brave chairman to sack Sturrock. Not forgetting his fomenting of dressing room unrest at the same time - just the qualities RFC need right now!

His pathetic dummy spit coz him and his overpaid poncey teammates weren't allowed to pop out to Brent Cross for some quality threads after their last game in the "big smoke". Not like they never get the chance to travel to London is it. At Reading he'd probably still be looking to pull the same stunt - maybe after Brentford next season.

Also - one of the most overrated, lazy unfit great "hopes" of English football in the last 10 years or so.

OK - so I know all of the above does make him seem a tempting prospect..................
