Mmmmm........
Miss the Premiership?
Bloody right I do.
Reading competing with, and taking points from, every team in Premiership over two seasons apart from The Gunners and Pompey
Top class opponents almost every week, with some of the finest players in the world on show.
Mad House full and noisy (both home and away fans)
See my club featured on TV regularly, both on satellite and terrestrial TV.
Great away days to some of the greatest stadiums in Europe (don’t included Pompey in that!)
A Reading player starting for England.
A Reading manager, being voted Manager of the season in the Premiership
Contrast above with a dull, drab, uninspiring Reading side and manager competing with another dull, drab uninspiring side at half empty stadiums, featuring players most people have never heard of (and never will)
Seems the reason most think the Championship is better is because ‘it’s a more even competitive league’ – yes agree with that – its uniformly second rate – rubbish playing rubbish tends to be pretty even (although we can’t even compete these days in an ‘even’ league)
Alternatively we have the ‘it costs less argument.’ Wow a shity burger and a coke at MucyDees costs less than a decent meal and a bottle of wine. I know which I would go for everyday of the week (and the restaurant does not have a plastic ‘M’ outside.)
And of course there is the ‘i would like to be playing in the second division’ crew. Just what are you on? Pathetic losers who only seem happy in a world of mediocrity. Hope you enjoy driving your 1997 Ford KA to the 99p shop for the Xmas shopping guys.
Premiership anyday of the week for me.
