winchester_royal If we can get Long into shape, and get him resembling some sort of match sharpness then he will be an asset.

Though TBH any sort of striker would be for us currently.

Is he interested enough though. Some of his performances appear to be dispassionate.

Shane Long has never been an asset. As rightly pointed out, he's always been 3rd or 4th choice, and once again, he's 3rd or 4th choice behing a fit Hunt, Rasiak and Simon Church. He hasn't really improved since he's been here, and his time should be called.
