Oh, and mega LOLz at Jonny (Rodgers will never be sacked - Rodgers sacked 5 hours later) Fordham.

Arnie_Pie I think this is a very bad move.

Why now?

There must be another reason than our league position. Probably something to do with the transfer window looming and BR being told there is no money

Best of luck BR, you shall make a great manager one day.

Tim Dellor has more pull that we realised.

I think this is worrying. Why now? With slight improvement and with a key time coming up?
The only answer is surely Rodgers was told he has no money in january.

Lets hope Paul Hart keeps us up....

Exceedingly happy. Now Curbs or Ferguson and I'll be well happy.

Well done to Madejski for realising we are not a small club anymore and not following the Bullivant route. Nightmare six months over and someone to restore direction and be strong to come in.

Gutted. He's going to be a good manager. But the timing was wrong, what with the financial constraints and all. Hope he gets a decent job soon elsewhere, and that we get Ferguson in asap.

Royal Lady Will be interesting to see how the team plays on Saturday - and more particularly, under a new manager. If some of the players weren't happy with the tactics, team selections etc, we might see a vast improvement in their quality of play and willingness to win now.

Even less expectation than ever TBH. Hopefully there is no knee jerk reaction to getting a new manager in right away. Unless there was wheeling and dealing already going on. Get this weekend out of the way and see what happens.

Or perhaps we wanted someone competent in with time to spend the money in January.

As others have said, it's a bit sad and surprised the club have done this after a better run of results. Thought he have might have come good long-term, was given a 3 year contract after all.

Eamon Dolan to be caretaker manager?

Problem is he never realised you can't play the style of football he wants without really good players of exactly the right blend. He won't get a job significantly higher up the pile than us, and there's no way his desired style will work at League One level!

Whilst obviously it was their cock up in the first place, the board/ Madejski deserve credit for acting now. They left it far too late with Bullivant giving Burns no chance, this time they have acted at the perfect time. The new man gets 4 games or so to assess the situation then act in January. If they stuck with Rodgers then they had to give him January, and once he's had January he may as well have had the season. With which again all would be too late.

I do hope that dolan is put in temp charge and Rodgers clown staff are bombed out too.

I'm very surprised, and very disappointed in Madejski. I really didn't think there was any danger of this. Let's hope the next man can have an immediate positive effect.

Which is a shame because it's unlikely a European team will give him the chance as a complete non-entity from English Football.
