bcroyal Notts Forest have turned down an approach from an unnamed Championship Club

The unnamed club is Sheffield Wednesday. Why anyone thinks Davies would leave Forest for Wednesday or Reading is beyond me.

On paper we should have better players - in reality, they've hardly set the league alight, any more than any Peterborough players. I fully expect that to change with the arrival of a new manager - who can better motivate them and spell out the tactics for them to stick to etc etc. Getting rid of Marek would be daft imo and I seriously doubt there are a queue of clubs waiting to snap him up anyhow.

Southgate is definitely SJM's sort of bloke.

With him in charge we'll finish above M'Boro.

Whilst it is interesting to speculate on who we might get and or actually want how long does it actually take to get someine in place?

If not out of work seek consent to approach from employing Club
Interview, negoiate contract personal terms / budget to buy players / pay required wages.

Place advert invite expressions of interest, interview, negoiate contract personal terms / budget to buy players / pay required wages.

Even if we go for someone who is out of work, can be paid peanuts and will work with who the Club decided to buy and have no say in players contracts this is still going to take at least until mid January so in the mean time who is going to Manage the Team?

Ideal ROKERITE - I CAN TELL YOU ARE DOING YOUR BEST TO RAIN ON OUR PARADE HERE, BUT THE REST OF US ARE ENJOYING THIS IMMENSELY. PLEASE oxf*rd RIGHT OFF YOU DAMN RODGERITE!

You are enjoying it, but the poll taken over the last few days would indicate you're in a minority. You will have many years to regret today's decision. Personally, my only concern now is that the new man hits the ground running, and that Reading collect as many points as they can from the remaining twenty five matches.

probably the person I'd be least enthusiastic about. No real reason other than I just don't really like him that much.

Southgate please - I think he will work well with the squad that he will inherit. He might be able to get Lita and Kitson back too

I would expect someone has aleady been sounded out as a viable option and was possibly waiting in the wings. It's not like we suddenly dropped down the league. The pressure was always on Rodgers from the off. Lets hope it's not weeks we have to wait for an announcement. Someone has to be in place within the next two games to settle the team down, make the right decisions about the current team, and strengthen and stabalise if money is available. Interesting times are afoot over the chrismas period.

Not Paul Hart.... :|

Still stunned, unsure whether the club needs to go for something 'solid' or another 'project' but given the shit we now seem to be in I'll punt for the former and say Curbs or SSC at least until the summer
