I suspect SJM will have been singularly unimpressed with Rodgers' inability to keep his cool under pressure and that it may actually have been Dellor's interview that nailed him.

Doubt Dellor's interview did anything at all - Madejski must have spent hours of his life speaking to Rodgers, so a two min soundbite won't make any difference. Results, talking shit, bit of over-reaction after what happened 10-15 years ago, etc. Many factors I imagine.

Harsh decision though IMHO and one which will only be proven right or wrong in the fullness of time.

This is a great day, this decision alone will prove to save us a lot of pain and anguish.

Why live in the past? Things are looking up now!
We'll have a new manager in place soon, in time for him to make some moves in the transfer window, and perhaps we'll have 3-4 players in, and we'll be improving rapidly.

I for one am very happy with this, I could not be happier right now. The last thing I want to do is think more about Rodgers's shortcomings, that is one of the things that make me so happy now, no more thinking about that.

You never know....you might even start writing some decent posts.

TBH if Rodgers went to Madejski and said I need a few million in Janaury, Madj would have been well within his rights to take him by the ear and throw him out the door saying:

"I gave you £3.5m in the summer and you've oxf*rd up the first 6 months spectacularly you odious little toad. What the hell makes you think I'm going to trust you with another £3m!?"

Results, a failure to show any convincing signs we were moving in the right direction. Yeah he'd stopped some of the rot briefly, but that's all, things were slipping again. Madj won't have appreciated his billy big balls bollocks or the transfer talk.

And he'll have been angry at having been taken in by a glossy presentation that promised lots and was very flashy, but delivered sweet FA.

Dellor interview can't have helped, but can't have been more than the straw that broke the Camel's back. I suspect Rodgers has been a dead man walking for some time and only lasted this long thanks to Blackpool & Coventry.
