I, too, was right. I'm too modest to point out what I was right about, though.

Genius! Why didn't I think of that? He can have Cilla in the backroom.

curbs has clearly stated on a number of occasions that he will only return to a premier league club. I'd like him but he wont come.

Tisdale - the man is a genius.

Can't see us paying out any more compensation though

I always feel that clubs that don't give managers a fair time to prove themselves deserve to be relegated BUT it seems in modern football that if as a manager you are not in the top 6 you are vulnerable to the sack. A ridiculously large number of teams in this division have already sacked their managers this season and we are not even half way.

I am disappointed - I know others did not agree but I have enjoyed the style of play so much more this season and felt results were not far away - but we will never know now if Rodgers would have failed or gone on to be a legend.

For me the only candidate now is Ferguson.

If we appoint some of the others mentioned (Southgate, Allen, Hart, Magilton etc etc) I will despair and not sure I will be motivated to go again until at least next season. It all feels a bit sad to me - although as I said on another thread I think BR made his position very difficult with the Dellor interview - even I thought he made a compete tw** of himself on Saturday and I doubt Sir John was impressed. It was probably the final straw.

We would be lucky to get Southgate IMHO......................the man who was sacked with his club in a league position we can only dream about.

Ferguson - Seems to me like he might have been sacked because Reading wanted to speak to him again and were refused permission, so Fergie fell out with the Posh board and is now just sitting, waiting, biding his time until Reading come a knocking. However, no experience at this level (even BR had more experience in terms of games played) s not sure what he can offer that BR couldn't. Must admit tho, did well for Posh over those two consecutive promotions.

Sanchez - can't see it happening. And personally i think we need a clean slate, no rose-tinted glasses, no harping for days gone by

Cotterill - not flashy, but could do a job i suppose. Wouldn't set the world alight.

Southgate - nice guy, but i don't think we need another nice guy

Curbs - would be a great appointment, but i don't see what's in it for him

Coppell - no thanks, see comments on sanchez

Jewell - actually would be my preferred choice. Knows how to get teams promoted from this division and doesn't mess around. Could be what we need.

The rest ie Hart, Quinn, Wise, O'Driscoll, Ince etc - all mediocre to rubbish at best, no notable achievements amongst them IMO.

And as for hoddle, does he only ever get linked with the reading vacancy? i never hear his name in relation to other jobs?!

Madejski does not like change, so its Coppell.

There is no way he will swap a young manager for a young manager. He will get what it says on the tin, Coppell (or curbishley)
