I know others did not agree but I have enjoyed the style of play so much more this season and felt results were not far away - but we will never know now if Rodgers would have failed or gone on to be a legend.

For me the only candidate now is Ferguson.

I think BR made his position very difficult with the Dellor interview - even I thought he made a compete tw** of himself on Saturday and I doubt Sir John was impressed.

You enjoyed watching us repeatedly snatch a draw or a defeat from the jaws of a victory.

Happened v Chelsea pre season and continued to happen through the season up including Saturday. So why do you think results were not far away? I really do not undersand why people think things were getting better!!

Saying we were outstanding against Scunthorpe was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard a manager say! This is a few days after we lost 4-2 at home to a team that can't afford to play their players

It has to be someone with some relative experience this time so Ferguson fits nicely into that category. There is something bugging me though about whether RFC would be the right move for him at this time. O Driscoll I think has made a bigger name for himself and has had time to develop his management skills quietly and effectively. I think Lee Clark will develop into a really good manager but its a little too soon to appoint him. I would really like Billy Davies but that would be a non starter now that Forest are looking strong promotion candidates. As long as its not Lawrie Sanchez or Tony Adams!!

I'll repeat what I said in the summer.... ole gunnar solskjaer, he said in the summer he wants to get into management, he is doing well as the man united reserve coach, was good enough to be offered the Norwegian national job... and lets be honest, he has learnt from the best!

I would be happy with Ferguson, Southgate or a return of Sir Steve. But I voted for Curbs. I think he would command the highest wages so I doubt will see him. As a matter of fact I don't think any of those four will get the job. It will likely be someone on the cheap, maybe even someone entirely off the radar.

People rightly look to Coppell's last 2 seasons with Reading. All I would say is he struggled to cope with all the big egos and the pressure that success brought.

However, he has an excellent proven track record at this level. This squad is young, hungry and eager to prove themselves. It's exactly the sort of situation Coppell would normally thrive on.

Whatever the choice, it must be an experienced manager in our position. At the start of the season you're in more of a position to take a chance on a young, up and coming manager. We did in fact. However, with the club in 21st and hovering above the zone, we need a man who has experience in this division and has been successful in this league before. That rules out Ferguson and Tisdale in my book.

Well, you can rule out anyone except Hart and Curbishley, and you can rule out them because of wages.
