I think McDermott will get the job until the summer, and I think we're in better hands than we were this time last week as well. As rightly pointed out in the pre-match commentary, McDermott looked very motivated, as did (name escapes me, sorry) the acting assistant manager. Previous match warm ups weren't as energetic and up beat as today's. That will spread to the players. I like McDermott, and think the guy is just as good an option as any out there currently (that would come here). Today was a very positive start to what I hope will be our new manager.

You're thinking of Nigel Gibbs, and there was certainly a sense of structure and game-plan to our football today that was missing in Rodgers' time, and the players were certainly up for it today. The celebrations when we scored were fantastic, even Kebe had a little smile on his face.

Long live King Brian.

LOL at the final sentence. It's like making a reasoned argument for a position and then concluding it with "and by the way I'm a clueless dickhead"

I agree and this is what I said when I heard his team selection earlier:

'It's all about keeping a measure of continuity for Mcdermott. Nice management from the man - not changing it too much - giving people the opportunity to show they can make up for past results.

Impressive start from the guy. Let's just hope we get a result!'

Well we got one. Feeling more positive after the disappearance of the big-watched impressario.

If McDermott doesn't get the job permanently, I'll tear up my season ticket.

I'm actually hoping he makes a good go of it. I don't see how it can get much worse.

Definitely +1. Not because I know anything about BM, but that it would mean we have at least escaped the dreaded drop.

When you're faced with the likes of Dowie and Cotterill, Brian McDermott isn't a bad choice at all. The warm up was more energised yesterday, and Gibbs had them raring to go. I think this could be a good set up for us. Were not going to get an Alan Curbishley with the purse strings so tight, so you have to think who can you get. Then it makes McDermott look all the more attractive in my opinion.

* The Eddie Hitler made me smile. All we need now is Paul Black as Assistant Manager and we have a Bottom lookalike double act in charge.

I'd also add Bryan Flynn into the equation. Did a brilliant job saving Swansea from certain Non League football. Did a terrific job at Wrexham. Now doing a brilliant job with the Welsh Under 21's. A very very under-rated manager who gets his teams playing on the deck. He won't get the job of course but its a shame he's not even worth considering.
