howser As much as I love this club and want Mcdermott to do well, the paramount decison over who is the eventual manager willl come down to money, and with average results, that look to be keeping us in the Campionship then he will get he nod.
The only way I see us taking part in the January window is with playes being sold on, Sigs and Marek being the obvious ones.
It is such a pity that after the last few years success, that we have sunk to the bottom of Madejski's priorities and are the noose around his neck.
If anything, the spouting he has come out with since the Brizzle game suggests this, quit amusingly the last few "back from the game" reports have regularly said that we had had a lot ofthe play but couldn't put the ball in the net, seems not a lot different last Saturday.

If we sell Sig then Madejski and Hammond should be lynched.
I can see us getting rid of Marek, and frankly I don't care that much about him. Mooney too. Maybe pick up a few quid of Ivar, but I doubt he'll leave in January. Hope we shift Long.

Hammond should be sacked anyway - he shortlisted Rodgers (in effect he said Rodgers is the man-given the football naivety on the board)
He sanctioned £2m purchase of Mills
He sanctioned the purchases of Halford,Fae and many other failures...hes a paper pusher and adds no value to the footballing side of the things

2 world wars, 1 world cup Too early to have any opinion at all.
Unfortunately he'll need a couple of seasons for us to be able to have any love or hate for the man.
THe biggest problem (that was blindingly obvious to some of us) with Rodgers was that he had a 'record' of only 27 games and even that was mediocre.
To go for a man with zero record would be extracting the urine.
However as many say here, if we can't get Ferguson/Tisdale/Curbs then I'll reluctantly plump for him because he's a nice guy and we all that means, erm, b*gger all in football.

I still think Rodgers record with Watford given his situation was good. I still think he'll probably make a good living as a manager. I just don't think he was the right man, at the right time, with the right methods.
Pardew had no experience and was an appointment from within. That worked out pretty damn well.

Surprised at you of all people using the Parj argument. Those without records may well do well, but it's unlikely. Pointing to one good example is naive and missing the point. I'm glad history proved me right.... again.

DOYLERSAROYALER Absolutely no doubt in my mind that Egoman wiill appoint McDermott as next Reading manager....his waxing about McDermott is just setting it up ...but if McDermott is as good as the Ego keeps saying..why didnt he appoint him after Coppell left??
This is a cost cutting exercise and the reason Rodgers was sacked...get Rodgers Austin and Lampard out and replace with in-house McDermott and Gibbs
Fair play to McDermoot and Gibbs and wish them well , but another sign that Egomans cloth cutting has reached desperate proportions
.
