£22m    for JoLOLeon LOLescott said it all to me - at the time I thought WTF is he doing?

Then again, he seemed to be given an inordinate amount of cash and just started spunking silly money at average players. Some of his signings have been good - Tevez is the stand out player for me - but generally speaking I've been unimpressed, in context of the money spent.

Richard Dunne, club captain and fans player of the season for the last 4 years, flogged to Villa to make way for LOLescott must be pissing himself.

Given
Bellamy
Tevez
Barry

All good signings by Hughes......i said, when he signed him, that Bellamy would shine under Hughes but people shot me down saying he was shit - he's been one of their players of the season. Thing is he'll now go back to being average as Hughes seemed to be the only man who could get the best out of him (plus he'll sulk now)

Bellamy was always going to play well for Hughes - guy who set him up at Wales (and at Blackburn iirc).

Bellamy's ability is only brought down by the fact that he's quite possibly the nastiest most competitive gobshite in all christendom.

New Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini will hope to beat Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool to the signing of Palermo centre-back Simon Kjaer and his other targets include Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, Rubin Kazan left-back Cristian Ansaldi, Osasuna right-back Cesar Azpilicueta, Sporting Lisbon centre-back Daniel Carrico, Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano, AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso and CSKA Moscow midfielder Milos Krasic.

I really really hope they bring in the limited foreigners rule to the English game

They can't be any worse than Lescott, Bridge and Toure.

And it's totally illegal anyway.

The CL squad rules have a limit on numbers but you can have unlimited players who were youth or homegrown prospects iirc

Chelsea got stumped by it 2 seasons ago and had to drop someone quite famous from their CL squad.

Garry Cook. There's a fair few contenders, but is he the most inept, gaffe-prone CEO in English football?
