SLAMMED
Flyingkiwi What STILL pisses me off is that if we hadn't had to hand over a whole wad of cash to Watford for "luring" this Wally away they'd already be in administration and have had 10 points deduced which would have gone some way toward making up for the abysmal string of results we've had during the reign of this moron!

oxf*rd off and never come back you knob!!!

If it makes you feel any better, the money we paid to Watford made absolutely no difference to the administration situation. They were never really that much in financial trouble and £500K-1M would have made no difference whatsoever. Their troubles of the last week arose purely because two different warring factions on their board were using the threat of administration in a game of poker for control of the club. Both parties had more than enough money to clear the debt but didn't want to put it up until the other party backed down.

Can't find the other Rodgers' thread about him leaving, so thought I'd post this: http://matchofthedave.com/2009/12/19/di ... ave-to-go/
Interesting read, that!

Whilst it's interesting to read, it fails to take into account of starting positions in the job, the fact that Burns was in charge of a team which had fallen into an inferior league less than halfway through those results and also of course the mass sales Rodgers was forced to make.

Burns signed both Murty and Forster - only good things he ever did for us.

I sympathise for the man; after Coppell, all our best players left, so basically, he started a de-moralised team from scratch. One positive however, he did bring us Rasiak, who looks hopeful. I heard that "teams in the bottom four of the Championship before Christmas are 75% likely to get relegated", so we need to find someone to get us out of this mess which Rodgers left.

I am disappointed that he has gone.
His team was beginning to play something like good football, and create loads of chances. It was a bit crap, but there was a hint of optimism.
Now we have a nobody in charge and presumably a return to the hoofball that made the games at the beginning of this year so difficult to watch.
Good luck Brendan.
