I hear that Pontious Nick Hammond is now on BBCRB pleading non-involvement in the Rodgers' sacking/decision to sack him!!
So The Director of Football has no input on whether the football manager should keep his job or not?!!! Incredible!
Madesjki says he doesn't make decisions on his own and Hammond says he's not involved. So that leaves Madejski, Wood-Smith and Howe making the decision?
Such a well run club that they can't even work out who does what and who actually made the decision to fire the manager.
Rev Algenon Stickleback H RoyalBlue As for Saint Madejski, it amazes me that some people still seem to believe that he did what he did for RFC purely out of the goodness of his heart! Yes, the club did (past tense) benefit significantly from his involvement but make no mistake, this was very much a mutualistic relationship. John Madejski got an awful lot back himself not least, as Mick Gooding pointed out on Saturday, through the way his profile rocketed. And anyone who does not realise that public profile is an extremely important driver in his life really is incredibly stupid.
If sure when he took over he was secretly thinking that running Reading could make him famous 15 years later.
You might not be intelligent enough to work out that the moment you become Chairman of a professional football club your name very much gets into the public domain through the media but he certainly was. And it was a lot damn quicker than 15 years as well! At the time he took over, very few people outside of the Evening Post and the publishing business had heard of him. The local media had to run stories on who he was (immediately making him more famous). There then followed numerous mentions in local and national press, radio and tv interviews etc.
