Watch the DVD's of our first season in the Premier League and then weep at the appalling decline that has taken place under Madejski with his 'I can single-handedly buck the economic practices of top level English professional football' approach.

As you have no doubt found in other walks of life, Madejski, you normally get what you pay for and, at present, when it comes to players with talent and true ability we have precious little.

That is why, if you did do it for the club as you claim, you must work your balls off to find someone who can give the club the backing it needs and deserves, and which you no longer appear prepared/able to do. If that means you have to let the club go for a pittance (in your eyes) and remove your name from the stadium then so be it!

The football club will be here long after Majaysky has gone. Hopefully.

Sun Tzu As for saving Howe's salary, that would leave a gap and someone would still need to do the CE role. Presumably we could get Ron Grant in to do it but would that be sensible ? There are loads of ways the club could save money (not employ any stewards, keep the floodlights turned off, not wash the kit, close the ticket office) but would they actually make business sense. Does NH get paid the market rate for his job ? If so getting rid of him wouldn;t save us anything.

My suggestion about Howe was a little tongue in cheek but you do wonder how much he rakes in from the RFC pot and how much time he spends on RFC business as compared with all the other pies he and SJM have their fingers in.

I won't be at the game on Saturday, but I really hope that if there is a protest against the board, the majority of the fans tell them to shut the f*ck up and stop being so bloody ungrateful. We are a Championship team at best and we have no right to say that the premier league is where we belong, we have spent only 2 years in the top division out of our considerable history.

If you look at businesses in all walks of life, they are all being prudent and not throwing money away. Why should football be any different? If you have the fan base, the merchandise sales, the TV revenue etc that is pretty much guaranteed, then go ahead and spend money on the team to try to improve it. If you can't guarantee it, don't spend it. There are many bigger teams then us, Bolton and Pompey to name 2, which are in a worse financial position then us and they are much more established in the top league then we are. We are not about to go bust, and in a year or two when we are back out of recession, maybe, just maybe, you will be grateful for the work SJM and the board have done to ensure we still have a club to support.

Rant off.

The anger from fans isn't that we're not spending to be a premiership club. I think we're all just worried that we're going to end up a league one club!

The other problem is the board et al have in the past led us to believe we should be in the prem, or at least try to be there. Their actions don't match the rhetoric though.

+1.

All this talk of a "Sack the Board" protest is quite frankly pathetic and embarrasing, like a bunch of spoilt children who stamp their feet when they don't get their own way. People on here (and I include myeslf in this) have no idea of the pressures and complexities involved in running a professional football club especially in the current economic climate, but I'd wager they are massive.

OK so things aren't great at the moment and mistakes have been made which have proved costly but as others have said we are finacially stable and can stay in the Championship this year which is a realistic position for a club of our size.

Anybody who joins in this "protest " should be shouted down and made to feel stupid, (which they are).

I'm only sorry I'm going to miss this game - half a dozen (if that) people will effectively make 20,000 RFC fans look like utter tools. If you bothered to read these reads Blue Elm, or whatever your name is, you'd realise that the vast majority of us, whilst not being in the least bit happy about our position, can all see quite clearly that SJM walking now, without an investor in place, would be suicide for this club.

Just tell me, please, what you think forcing SJM out of the club (like you could do that anyway) would achieve? Who is going to take over, who is going to put shed loads of money in? I don't think you've thought this through.

Those templates look like they've been put together by a 9 year old. Stop embarrassing the rest of us and end this nonsense. A small group of neanderthal Reading fans aren't going to make John Madejski do anything. If you think otherwise, you really don't know much about John Madejski. What drivel.

Its not the case of getting Madejski out. Thats not mine, or anyone elses intention. The intention is this. We need change, if we dont get change we're going down and we've slipped so far that its heartbreaking for fans of this club. We can see this club going further downhill and into the mire unless halted soon

TBH, I really do hope the TV cameras catch everyone of the 12 idiots on camera so we can all have a good laugh at the brainless morons after the game.

It will be a peaceful protest I can assure you and I'm sure after being told that the cloth needs to be cut even more in the program before the game, you'll join in too.

If not, your not really that big a fan

And what if you were sucessfull (which won't be with this embarrassing attempt), how long do you think it takes to go through a buy out etc etc. It's not like you popping into asda and selecting a new board etc! Process takes months and all funds would be suspended for January meaning no new players and we will no doubt be in bigger shite.

Your voice would be better heard begging madjeski to bring in a new manager with fresh ideas and some fight.

People are conflating two issues here. Anyone who thinks Mr Mad should go without a buyer in place is quite rightly an idiot. You try running 17 companies in the worst recession since the war.

The board is another matter. Some incredibly bad decisions have been made and as supporters we quite rightly want to have a say. I can't see a problem with that. It doesn't make you a moron.
