And what do you aim to achieve by sacking the board?

What happens thereafter?

Is this what you would call a 'destructive' revolution? Without considering the consequences of your actions you will cause more harm than good.

John Peel People are conflating two issues here. Anyone who thinks Mr Mad should go without a buyer in place is quite rightly an idiot. You try running 17 companies in the worst recession since the war.

The board is another matter. Some incredibly bad decisions have been made and as supporters we quite rightly want to have a say. I can't see a problem with that. It doesn't make you a moron.

Ok then, apart from the decision to appoint Rodgers what decisions made by the board have been 'incredibly bad'?

But the fascist regime did as well as turning you into a potential H Bomb. Gordon was one as well. HTH.

And to think that there are certain nobbers out there who ridiculed me for referring to "The Board". Well, what do you spack-tards have to say now? It is not the players' fault that they aren't good enough. You cn't blame the manager either - silk purse and all that. That leaves us with two other options. Either the supporters or the people who run the club. Get rid of the fans! Sack the fans! Boycott the fans!

The board is two people appointed by Mr M. To all intents and purposes he IS the board.

Anybody who wants to buy him out knows the address or maybe you could start one of those pointless fan campaigns- a la Liverpool- to buy the club.

None of you will though because it's easy to moan on the internet but quite hard to manage 17 companies through a recession.

So the players aren't good enough, the owner isn't rich enough, the fans aren't protesting enough and it's the board that has to go

This is a joke, isn't it?

SJM's choice to front up 17 companies. I don't recall anyone holding a gun to his head on that one. Try reading the posts before spouting tired old second-hand sentences.

My heart bleeds for the poor old barsteward!! And if he chooses to single-handedly manage/have an active role in managing all of those companies it would be exactly that - his choice. Likewise it's his choice to put money into a print business (perhaps not the smartest sector to invest in given the way technology is advancing), which some claim is struggling.

My beef with him is that he started the rot by his very public pronouncement that he wanted out and his subsequent action/inaction since then. I suspect most companies, including football clubs, are not sold as a consequence of their chairman putting out a 'come and buy it' ad in the media. Perhaps he should have kept his mouth shut and appointed a professional sale advisor to quietly undertake the work in the background.

So the fans can't buy him out but many rich and powerful football club chairmen have eventually been driven out by supporters protests/campaigns and everything that comes with those things. The more the heat is turned up on him personally, the more likely he is to review the criteria that need to be satisfied before he will sell.

So you're saying you want him to sell, no matter who to? We'd be bought by idiots, asset stripped, and go straight down the plughole.

OK, so we're in the worst League position since we got promoted to the 2nd tier in 2002. But I'll sure as hell still take my chances with this Chairman than the likes of anything that came before him. I think people forget that before Sir Mad this club thought that a couple of seasons in Tier 2 constituted an incredible adventure:

Now a couple of seasons in the Prem has a few STGs thinking we deserve to be there. Yes, I'd like that to be true but until someone comes along who has the patience to develop us into such a club then I'm prepared to FULLY support an average Championship club (who'll occasionally have the odd relegation or promotion up or down a league).

Just tell me, please, what you think forcing SJM out of the club (like you could do that anyway) would achieve? Who is going to take over, who is going to put shed loads of money in? I don't think you've thought this through.

I know who isn't going to put in 'shed loads' of money - JM.

And no - I am not one of those trying to force him out. However, I think those who are protesting are at least showing the courage of their convictions and not just being rude behind a pseudonym....

Blue_Elm It will be a peaceful protest I can assure you and I'm sure after being told that the cloth needs to be cut even more in the program before the game, you'll join in too.

If not, your not really that big a fan

Who gave you the authority to become the thought police.

I don't like where we are
I do believe mistakes have been made
I don't believe SJM is deliberately trying to ruin the club
I do believe we will survive to fight another day
I don't want to feel the way the Pompey fans do at the moment.

I'm obviously not a big fan.

Royal Lady I'm only sorry I'm going to miss this game - half a dozen (if that) people will effectively make 20,000 RFC fans look like utter tools. If you bothered to read these reads Blue Elm, or whatever your name is, you'd realise that the vast majority of us, whilst not being in the least bit happy about our position, can all see quite clearly that SJM walking now, without an investor in place, would be suicide for this club.

Just tell me, please, what you think forcing SJM out of the club (like you could do that anyway) would achieve? Who is going to take over, who is going to put shed loads of money in? I don't think you've thought this through.

Its not the case of getting Madejski out. Thats not mine, or anyone elses intention. The intention is this. We need change, if we dont get change we're going down and we've slipped so far that its heartbreaking for fans of this club. We can see this club going further downhill and into the mire unless halted soon

If you want to "sack the board" you quite clearly want Madejski out. You say you want change. I'll ask you again, WHO do you think is going to come in and suddenly take over if Madejski walks?

Absolutely no idea who but what's so different about that?

When we wanted Waller out, we didn't realise Captain Bob was going to appear over the horizon and we didn't know that Roger Smee would come along to thwart him (with the help of others). When Smee had to give the club up to concentrate on his other business interests (Madejski please note!), we didn't know that Madejski was going to appear. Have Gold and Sullivan found a club yet (might as well keep with the publishing and there's more money in porn than cars!)?

How many clubs have actually ever ended up without a chairman/owner?

Doesn't necessarily have to be bought as an investment and at least the effects of the cost cutting are likely to be reducing the price each week!

Hang on - what reason would you buy the club for ? If it's not as an investment, then you may as well flush the dosh down the toilet.

Which multi-millionaire is going to throw their money away - unless of course they happen to be a Reading fan. I'm struggling to think of many of these.

100% spot on, and something the "wheres all the money gone/sack the chairman" conspiracy theorists consistently fail to adress
