IdealSmoking Kills Dancing Doe he had 2 fantastic season that are nothing like the situation we are now. We had 3 seasons were things went badly wrong and Coppell could do nothing.
106 has nothing to do with it.
1. he is not a "scream shout Mad Dog Allen" type guy. Sometimes you need screaming and shouting. All the same, I don't think that is what we need now. So I think he would do well as things are now, particularly since many of the players here did better when he was manager - for example Long and Ingimarsson.
2. 106 has everything to do with it, it tells you something great could happen. It is what they call empirical evidence. He has done it before, why not again?
3. So what if there is no money, his best signings were the cheapest ones! I think he would thrive under the current conditions. Especially now that he has had some time off to relax and replenish his energy so to speak.
4. Most importantly - Coppels teams were always strongly organized. Much like Roy Hodgson's Fulham. That is EXACTLY what we need right now.
But you are just ignoring all the evidence that points to him not being able to turn a bad situation round.
He had 3 situations like we now have, with much, much better players, with money to spend and he was totally clueless as what to do.
I'm as desperate as anyone and would love Coppell to come back and save us. After BR's reign my respect for Coppell as a man as grown even stronger,he is what is great about this game. I just don't think he's the answer.
