by Dirk Gently » 07 Jan 2010 15:16

If by some miracle we do beat Liverpool, the Burnley match will be live on ITV - 12.45 kick-off on Sat 23rd Jan.

That's strange, when i saw the televised fixtures the other day it had Preston vs Chelsea as the Saturday lunchtime game, with Spurs/Leeds sat evening, and Stoke/arsenal and Scunny/ManCity as the other games? Would be a massive LOL at ITV if we manage to turn Liverpool over now though

Awful call from ITV.

Reading Vs Burnely and Liverpool Vs Burnley will both be tediously dull.

That's not the point - they're not interested in attracting the people who don't go to watch matches in real life - they'll be out watching matches that day.

They're interested in attracting the people who watch TV from home and for whom any of the Big 4, with players they've heard of, will be worth watching.

More viewers = more advertising income, which is ll ITV is interested in. Their job is delivering viewers to their advertisers, not delivering TV programmes to viewers.

This is a bit confusing as the ITV website doesn't mention our game.

Where did you get this info from as the TV games were picked a few days back and the Preson / Chelski game was the lunchtime ITV game and not us or Liverpool /Burnley.

It does seem to have been an error on our website as the game will be shown on the Internet only and not ITV http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/FACompeti ... Ties2.aspx

 at any serious thought we'll be involved in the 4th round

however the best bit of news has come out of our possible involvement in that the 30 fat blokes who were scheduled to be rolling about on the pitch that weekend have switched to Twickenham...

Winning a 4th round match is nowhere near winning a play-off semi.
Prefer to be in Burnley's shoes should we get past Liverpool and knock them out too!
