What I can't understand is this perpetual pessimism some of you guys seem to pride yourselves on - yeah, things haven't been great for a while but fact is we got an amazing result on Wednesday and acquitted ourselves fairly well today against a form team and after 2 hours exertion in midweek. After a blissful few days of no moaning, as soon as Howard misses a penalty against a keeper playing very well, you turn on the team straight away.

Get behind the lads for christs sake. We played well today, things will start going our way soon. I think we were just unfortunate to come up against such a good side after midweek.

Selma Park Finished 2-1

Part of me hopes we do get relegated, just to give some of you folks a deserved splenic rupture

Charlton (2-1 away, Norwich 5-0 away today) are doing OK in Division 1 since being relegated.

Oh I feel much better now!

We can go back to where we started and do quite well (maybe).

Out of interest, how much cloth cutting did their respective Chairmen indulge in when they went down?

Now where have I heard that line before?

Oh that's right, about this time in 2008 and 2009 and, of course, things did start to go swimmingly our way!

The word you are looking for is realism which is completely different from pessimism. I suggest that you read a few threads before knee-jerking!

Sounds like another unlucky result. I can honestly see them happening for the rest of the season and us ending in League 1. It happens to teams EVERY year.

Result doesn't go our way. Some idiots throw toys out of the pram.

It's not fair, is it? Why doesn't the world let us win at Forest (who are on an unbeaten run of 17 games)? Rather than deal with the disappointment and recognise that going there and being competitive is a relative success, isn't it far easier to slag off the team, various players and, inevitably, the current boss?

Well grow up and cope with it. We've had one unacceptable performance under McDermott and several encouraging ones.

Yeah to be fair I'm getting fed up with hearing this all the time. Playing well is one thing but we need to start picking up points and pulling away from the relegation zone... now.

How long does Brian deserve before we look elsewhere? (if we have a choice in the matter of course - we might be stuck with him)

To be fair to Brian, I don't think he is the problem. You can only work with the tools that you are provided with.

Agree and disagree. Based on the games he's been in control of, I'd give the job to Brian. You must consider the situation he took over.

However, these people calling us unlucky and being happy with the performance need to face reality a little more. LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF TEAMS GO DOWN DESPITE PLAYING WELL AND BEING "UNLUCKY" WEEK IN WEEK OUT!!!!

Playing well is always a good thing, but we need points. They matter more.

Realism, yeah - noone's denying that we're in a relegation fight and there are things to be worked upon, but there have been many positives from this week. Those of you suddenly calling the team a joke again after one missed penalty in a good performance against a great side just beggar belief. That's rampant pessimism.

Football is supposed to be entertainment, just get behind the team, see the positives and enjoy yourselves you grumpy gits.

This team now appears to be playing with more determination, so the Championship tide will turn.

Talking about 'perspective', a few people need to read thread 'Eleven years ago...'

I'm not calling the team a joke. I'm just saying that the team pull up an inch too short and appear to have "unlucky days" far too often.

Thought the worst when I heard he was taking it. How come int he absence of Gylfi a player who has only scored one (consolation) goal for us steps up to take the pen when we had strikers on the pitch??

Waste of space - get rid, sell or service revolver at the back of the coach.

(Cisse and Tabb could watch their step too)

Howard had taken penalties for Barnsley in the past so it wasn't as if he's a novice. I've heard that Camp was off his line too.
