Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Relegation would be a disaster, just like the last time, when people tried to say it was a good thing.

Hoop Blah I think he probably means the last time we were relegated, you know about 18 months ago!

Hoop Blah Oh come on WR, going back up is a lot harder than not getting relegated.
Getting relegated was the disaster and cost us a hell of a lot of money, not going up again at the first attempt just made it all a hell of a lot worse.

i totally agree.davies could have been an established player in our team by now, if we,d had more sense. what did he do wrong to get dropped in the first place? to me he was starting to look like the best replacement for sidders that we were ever likelyto get without spending a fortune.

I was going on relegation to the third tier.........
And getting relegated wasn't the disaster (it still wasn't a good thing though), not going up last season was......

Terminal Boardom I think it is about time for Scott Davies to step up to the mark. What have we got to lose by playing him for the rest of the season? Either play him or sell him. Simples!

Garrincha My mate has played with and against Howard & believes Davies is a more accomplished player

I have watched Davies on several occasion for Wycombe this season (when RFC have played away) as my mate plays for them. From the games at Reading and more recently at Wycombe I have been very impressed with his displays. Other than a few wayward passes that have been due to complacency more than anything else he has shown a great range of passing and is always looking for an opportunity to hit the target. The only criticism is that there have been a number of instances during games where he hasn't tracked his runner but I'm sure this wouldn't be the case for Reading as he has a much freer role for Wycombe and can get away with it in L1. He is technically better than Sidwell in his touch, passing and control not to mention his shooting ability (stats showed Sidwell was woeful when it came to hitting the target) and its a shame he has missed out on gaining a huge amount of expereince in the Championship even if he wasn't to start every game and is a much better all round player than Howard which made his signing all the more puzzling and unnecessary. My mate has played with and against Howard & believes Davies is a more accomplished player. I just wonder if we may have another costly Simon Cox scenario......?

Terminal Boardom I rate Davies as a far better prospect than Henry Kelly or whatever his name is.

SteveRoyal I like this lad. I really do, I think he could be a fantastic player for us.
My only problem is that there's nowhere you could fit him into our squad.
You could slot him in midfield alongside Karacan, but then we'd have a midfield 4 of McAnuff, Karacan, Davies and The Sig - and whilst this may be quality on paper, the lack of experience would definitely hinder the amount of quality on show.
Then you have to think about Matejovsky, Tabb, Howard, Cisse all on the bench for the team. He could do a job next season when/if we sell Cisse and Matejovsky; but by then it might be too late.
