winchester_royal Howard wasn't a risk. He's a consistent, proven championship performer, and IMO he's shown that.

And tht is why Winchester Royal is a c*ck.

There are two posters with that name. One with upper case, one with lower. You're calling the wrong one a dick, sweetie.

Wycombe Royal
Smoking Kills Dancing Doe He's not great.

SIg playing in the middle would be though.

£250k worth the punt?

WHo says £250k?

Barnsley fans reckon it is £800k with Bristol City fans believing it is £500k. But as it is undisclosed I guess we won't be finding out....

It's def £250k.

Well you obviosuly have better sources than the local media up in Yorkshire:

Campbell-Ryce joined the Reds from Southend United for £150,000 - and his sell-on fee to join the Robins is believed to be at least six times higher than that.

Heaven forbid that a club might get the local rag to do run with a bit of an over-inflated fee to appease the fans (not that they might need appeasing by the sounds of it).

From the very little I know and have heard the fee's you hear in the media are pretty different to that which ever really get paid, certainly paid upfront anyway.

Pompey are perfect example aren't they?

I haven't even seen a Bristol City fan claim that the fee is as low as £250k.......

I can only assume that as SKDD definately knows the fee he is either Gsry Johnson, Mark Robins, JCR, JCR's agent or works at the FA.

I can't believe Liverpool spent £18m on Glen Johnson.

It's probably that one fee is the basic, and the other is the potential total with appearences and other add-ons, etc.

And, at the risk or endlessly repeating myself, it's not the transfer fee, it's the wages. A player costing £250k and on wages of only £10k a week ends up costing a total of £1.81M over a three year contract.

Very perfect. Especially as they don't pay the clubs anything!
