I can only assume that as SKDD definately knows the fee he is either Gsry Johnson, Mark Robins, JCR, JCR's agent or works at the FA.

It's probably that one fee is the basic, and the other is the potential total with appearences and other add-ons, etc.

And, at the risk or endlessly repeating myself, it's not the transfer fee, it's the wages. A player costing £250k and on wages of only £10k a week ends up costing a total of £1.81M over a three year contract.
