soggy biscuit
gazzer, loyal royal Flamini looks set for Man City

Good signing. Turning into Arsenal reserves though

Did Flamini ever make it after leaving Arsenal?

I remember reading that he was struggling to break into the team and was trying to get a move back to the PL. But that was last year sometime. I suppose this could be the culmination of that, but I wouldn't have thought he was signed on his Arsenal reputation alone.

Cambell - Ryce to Bristol City.

We could have done with a left winger on the cheap tbh.

Wow. Just spoken to a Hull City board member, and he reckons that another Premier League team (he won't name them, but I think we can work it out) are up to £7m in their bid for Stephen Hunt! Hull absolutely do not want to sell because they know they won't be able to replace him and he's key to their survival. But if they can get rid of some of their dross (Cousin is a definite leaver apparently) to get some wriggle room wages-wise, he still might go. Incredible price for Hunty, and it really shows how highly he is rated elsewhere.

Don't know, but interestingly Hull man reckons they paid £2m rather than the £3.5 often quoted - I guess the latter is with add-ons, erm, added on. I guess it is Wolves who are after him. They seem to have decided that Jarvis is not Premier League standard - tough on him as he is playing on the 'wrong' side as it were, what with being all right-footed and that.

Good move for him.......i still dont understand why Doyle opted for Wolves instead of holding out for a club like Everton to come in for him. If Beckford can do it, then a ROI international should have been able to

but itll only cost them £2.5m in wages? They could buy a.player for £2.5m then wages and he could be shit and they go down. so is it really a risk, is it reckless? no

so 100k pw aren't horrendous wages?

Sullivan and Gold have been like Mr Mad complaining about spiralling wages and no matter how long they think they'll pay this for it contributes to the general problem

yes of corse. but this doesn't involve a transfer fee :?: so we're looking at 4 months at 100k a week.. it's not a risk :!: you could look at it as a bit of a bargain if he stays fit. what will he cost west ham? £2m in wages between now and the seasons end :?: (this is only until the end of the season?)

I thought the same at the time but I just think he thought he would be practically guaranteed a start at Wolves. Given Everton's injuries he would have been there as well but wouldn't have known that at the time he moved!!

Plus he needed a regular run of games with the World Cup coming up - at the time, anyway!

And no guarantees that Everton or whoever would come in .... when you only have one offer on the table what else do you do?

TBM - might Doyle have had some contact with McCarthy before we scouted him or is that too early?

Its possible as McCarthy was manager of Ireland whilst Doyle was in the U21's.......
