Smoking Kills Dancing Doe What a ball in by Griffin.

He's looked sharp today. Maybe people should not have written him off before even playing....

You are spot on there sir! His passing today (and not just across the back) was of extremely high quality. I would be interested to see what his pass completion rate was. I started counting and it was 100% up to 9 when I stopped (yeh OK, it was too cold to take my shoes and socks off!).

The only 'criticism' of him I had - up until the last 10 minutes or so - was that he wasn't pushing forward beyond the half way line and we were therefore missing out in overlapping runs and support in attacks down the right. The moment they removed the electric fence on the halfway line, he produced that sublime pass and we scored. After that I was hoping he would stay back and defend but the altitude appeared to have got to his head and he kept pressing forward!!

PorkyRfc Notts County at home would be nice.

Football trivia question for somebody knowledgable;
I know we last reached the fifth round in 2007 and before that 1998 but we lost in both.

Obviously our best every performance was in 1927 when we got to the Semi finals (just two games away and at Wembley now!!)

BUT does anyone know IF we win in the next round, when was the last time we got to the FA Cup Quarter Finals???? I remember the League Cup one in 1996 and 1998.

Could be some significant history in a particularly despressing season?!

Quarter-finals in 27 was the last time.

More than that, he doesn't play the obvious ball - he'll do something a bit different and which the opposition aren't expecting. That's something that many of the others aren't good at - Bryn especially.

I know that; but to to get to the semis, you have to get through the quarters first, so I am correct.

Yep, it really was terrific to see a RB who was so comfortable on the ball. With him, Mills, and Bertrand all in the back line we have proper footballers who can now play the ball out of the back.

Maguire What a season Gylfi is having. Full credit to Brendan Rodgers for giving him his chance.

You're better at game annecdotes TBF.

Plenty to like in the tidy buildup too --seen a fair bit of that over the three and a half hours against Liverpool and again yesterday

Boy, it ain't hard to hear the ball getting thumped around in that clip

you disagree?

Basically yes.

Rodgers really hadn't had much choice but to blood the youngsters with the decimation of the first team squad. Gylfi is a product of the previous administration and I'm surprised you haven't also praised McDermott as chief scout and bringing such a talent to the Mad Stad.
