Rest assured, if we go down this season, you will need a wide angle lens to get everyone in. There will be plenty of people wanting to tell the ***** ***** *********** ******** just what they think of him and his fantastically run business/club - 'cloth cutters par excellence'.

I'm not sure why anyone would thinkthat some people wouldn't have the balls to tell him what they think of him and be unable to compete on equal terms in a debate with him. They just need to be careful not to slander anyone. I don't believe he is a god, personally I don't think is that much of a genius and I am pretty sure he sh*ts like the rest of us.

The bottom line, as I see it, has been money - SJM wanted to save as much as possible - he's achieved that, to the detriment of the whole club and as a two fingered salute to loyal fans.

are you willing to pour your money away into the club without getting it back?
do you know someone who is?

Because if the answer to both questions is no, then I believe you are no different from our present chairman!!

Thing is, you only get your name plastered over the stadium if you paid the club for one of those silly peel-off stickers to go on the back of your seat.

I appreciate what he's done for our club and our town - he saved us and helped us get to the Premier League.
However, since then he's made dreadful decision after dreadful decision after dreadful decision. It pains me.

Do not think for one second that Madejski is responsible for any of the policy decisions made at the club.

FiNeRaIn Well the fans seem to have spoken, get out please Mr Mad. Don't care who you sell to - just hop it before you destroy us even more.

Why don't you discuss this idea with a few Portsmouth fans?

The difference is he shits from his arse and you shit from your mouth.

Every time I have the misfortune to stumble across one of your posts I get a sense of deja vu. All you can manage is playground name-calling and abuse of Madejski and it's irritating in the extreme. Instead of sitting at your keyboard whingeing and whining why don't you put together a consortium of like-minded people from this board and buy Madejski out? Or organise a demonstration at a game (if you actually go to games) to make the chairman feel unwelcome. I suspect though you're just a sad little man whose highlight of the day is posting abusive comments on an internet message board with limited knowledge of football and none of business and finance.

I remember going to Elm Park and watching us play Workington, Southport, Barrow and Bradford Park Avenue. Where are these clubs now? Have any of them played in the Premiership? No, they haven't and the reason for that is almost certainly that they've never had the fortune of having a John Madejski.

It may be time SJM moved on but I think he's earned the right to decide when to go and to ignore people like you whose eloquence and intelligence is limited to post after post of four letter invective. You need to realise that Reading may never again play in the top flight of English football and you've been privileged to have witnessed what have probably been the greatest years in the club's long history. Would that have happened without John Madejski? I don't think so.

I'm just glad this is just a forum sometimes. I respect the fact that everyone has the right to an opinon but if you think things are bad now just wait and see what'll happen if Mr M sells to any f*cker. We're in unprecedented economic times and we should count ourselves lucky we have someone conservative in charge, how ever frustrating it is.

Don't get me wrong, I am furious at what at what's happened recently but I know it could easily get worse if some nutter chairman took over.

+1 Couldn't agree more.

Sir John at least keeps us stable! Would you rather the clowns at Newcastle, Portsmouth, ManUtd or Liverpool? There is careful cost cutting to cope with the clubs position and then there is the asset stripping that has happened to these other clubs!

These are tough times for football (everywhere except City but thats only a matter of time surely ?) and one can't honestly blame Madejski. He's probably lost quite a bit of money on his worldwide business interests, and like most of us during this (dep)recession has had to tighten his belt accordingly.

My guess is that Reading FC is a luxury he can afford to do without as much as it pains him to offload. I think if you put yourself in his shoes you'd probably all have the same opinion.

By trying to offer the club at an over inflated price he's not only trying to protect his own interests but also those of the club ,so I cant really knock him for that either.

Although I say all of the above I am also slightly critical, after all by investing just a little it might just actually keep us in the Championship which is always going to be more lucrative financially and one could argue easier to sell ?

I think it is time for a parting of the ways (sadly) but for both parties probably better in the long term.

Agree in some ways, but only up to a point.

The problem he has is one where to draw the line. If he throws money at the problem and it doesn't work, does he throw more at it chasing the success, and if so, where does he stop? He's made a decision that is perfectly straightforward - the business must stand on its own feet and be sustainable. So his "line in the sand" is simpleand sraighforward - no subsidy. And at a time when his other businesses are hemorrhaging money who can blame him for that?

And the thing is that the club ought to be sustainable without subsidy - as discussed in other threads today, we are in the top 10 salary payers in the CCC, so we ought to be mid/upper half of the table. The fact that we're not isn't something that can be directly laid at the feet of SJM - it's down the players and managers one way or another.

And I know that there are semantics, too - that one man's "subsidy" is another's "investment", but I'd imagine he'd invest when he can see a return on that investment, and there's no prospect of that without a big, big sum of money, and as several other clubs are doing the same then that's not an investment, that's a big, big gamble - at a time he's got no spare cash to gamble with.

How many Championship club managers were given a solid squad with 4 million pounds to strengthen?

It's alright, Royal Blue has proved himself to be a top class idiot over the years. If he had it his way, the club would be on an even poorer financial footing than it already is

And you, of course are so f*cking intelligent! Being a moderator is probably the biggest achievement in your life!

Madejski has done such a f*cking great job with our finances hasn't he?

All that f*cking bull about being so f*cking well run, the envy of other clubs etc. etc. I bet they're green with envy looking at our current position.

And if we were so well run, how come everything suddenly fell apart so damn quickly that we had to implement the savage cuts that are about to condemn us to League One football?

I'm such a top class idiot that I was saying years ago that Madejski would end up f*cking this club over. Strap was saying similar things at the time but he appears to have lost sight of that at the moment, such is his obsession with pinning the blame on Madejski's first fall guy manager of this season.

There has been a global recession over the past year that doesn't explain why with a full stadium every home match + two years of Premiership money, the owner has seen fit not to invest in the football sde of the club ?? after 8th in the first Prem years we should have developed and invested in the next season in an attempt to maintain our status but he didnt want to.
