2 world wars, 1 world cup Madejski definitely out as far as I'm concerned.

And teh quicker the better.

He got into the Prem, not for our sakes, but so he could sell.

He tried to sell and failed.

He then sucked as much money out of the club as possible bleeding us dry and destroying the club as we are witnessing now.

He is first and foremost a greedy businessman, and an egotistical one at that.

Those of you still worshipping the greedy one for saving the club are living in the past.

Despite being the largest town in the UK with a HUGE catchment area and growing quickly with affluent inhabitants and a healthy appetite for watching football we're facing 3rd tier football with a team of youth, has-beens, loanees and an apprentice manager. What we do have though is a nice stadium, or rather, an Ego-dome.

F**k off Madejski. And thanks for nothing.

Couldn't have put it better. Don't expect much of a response from the RTG's, the same old drivel like " cuts were bound to happen" have been played to death.

I think he should go as soon as possible however I would get rid of Madjeski completely so that all of the backroom staff would leave with him!

OK, it's time for Mr Mad to go. A fair point was made somewhere above about investors might be happier to invest if the the chairman/owner actively wants to be in and part of the club and not publicly stating he wants to sell.

BUT, who/what do want in his place. Some faceless consortium (a la Notts Cty), a fake rich Arab/Russian/Thai/Irish/etc (a la Man City (as was), Portsmouth), an egoman talking big with a bit of money who then sells us down the river (Hamman, Ridsdale etc), another Mr Mad who likes the kudos but won't spend (Bates anyone?).

All of which risk us going belly up with huge debts.

Are there any other Abramovich's out there who really want to sink millions into a club with no history (comparable to the "names) at the wrong end of the CCC with "low" crowds and a "small" stadium??? Oh, and won't expect the money back in a hurry (or at all), unlike Russo at Watford or Jordan at Palace!

Where do we go from here?

So, near on two thirds of those who have expressed an opinion want the egomeister to go. Fairly emphatic if you ask me. What makes me chuckle though is this nonsense about self sufficiency and cloth cutting. Just how many football clubs can realistically expect to operate at a profit and stay within their means? The level of debt, certainly within the PL, is laughable. How many millions at Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal??? Sure, their liability is underwritten but it is not good for the game in general.

Now, I am not one to say that money should be thrown at the club with gay abandon. That would be irresponsible. But to take a back seat and not provide any investment is surely as irresponsible. Football clubs cost money. FACT. Ok, we made a small profit when we were in the PL but where has that left us? If the egomeister is so determined to sell then he should be taking the prospect very seriously. The further we slip down the league ladder, the harer it will be to find a buyer. He may be asking for too much money. Well, he has to lower his sights!

So, no buyer cos we are struggling
No buyer as the ego is asking for too much

What's the alternative? Invest in the club in order that our status can be maintained. If he doesn't want to open his wallet then get additional investment on board AND SWALLOW SOME OF THAT oxf*rd PRIDE THAT IS HOLDING US BACK!

Twat, 126 people voting in this poll does not represent the majority of Reading fans.

What is about the quote that you find hard to understand? I qualified it quite clearly as a statement of those that expressed an opinion. And those that expressed an opinion is an emphatic majority. Did I suggest that it was the opinion of ALL Reading supporters? No. Now, get off your high horse!

Indeed you didn't. However with the high levels of PC literacy, ownership and internet usage nowadays (across all sectors of society) anyone who claims that the poll on here is completely unrepresentative is probably a fool.

117 people voting on the "Colors to the mast" thread think we'll stay up (as against 88 who think we won't). My guess is that most if those people are different from the majority of people who voted on this one. None of these polls is emphatic about anything.

Besides, what the fans might want is irrelevant if there's nobody to sell to. People should be careful what they wish for - Madejski's not perfect but he's not Michael Knighton either!

which is great, but you'll never be a success on the pennies left over from running your club so well.

I used to be a RTG but it is so glaringly obvious what is happening that it becomes a bit embarrassing defending the madman much longer. What is happening at this club is a disgrace.

The global recession has also passed Watford by too. Take the trouble to read behind the headlines and you would realise that administration wasn't ever really as likely to happen as it seemd on the face of things. Two competing powers on the board were playing russian roulette with the club. OK, they took it right down to the last chamber in the barrell before one of the chickened out but there always was going to be be a chicken!

Oh for two competing factions on our board at present!
