FiNeRaIn LOL at the standard of football i've just witnessed. I can't remember a game where two sides were so bad. How are barnsley 13th? The standard of passing was embarrassing at times but 3 points is 3 points. We need to build on it.

I thought we were good - just couldnt' score more than the one goal. With some confident strikers in the team we'd have won that game 4:0 or so and everyone on here would have been raving about the performance.

rob9182 Long does no where near the work of Church or Thorvaldsson and doesn't have a finish, just like the rest of the striking force at them moment. So am I the only one that thinks Long is getting starts from goals rather than performance which isn't a bad thing but he is not scoring enough and doesn't finish well ENOUGH!

The Cap Eh, 3 points is 3 points. Ugly win, beautiful win? Who cares from now on in.
By the way was anybody privvy to the Barnslee crew trying to break through the dividing fence, outside the East Stand, at the end of the game. Just like our defence during the ninety minutes, they had no joy. Bloke next to me said the last time he saw that happening was when we played the 'Wall at home. And let's face it, how many moons ago was that?

RoyalBlue Very grateful for the three points but, in another game, the hatful of great opportunities created only to be missed would have cost us dear, asindeed it has in the past.
McDermott says he will be happy with 1-0 wins but I hope he doesn't really mean that. If he does, I can only assume he was unconscious when we got relegated from the PL on goal difference!
The funds must be made available to sign a clinical finisher at this level. McDermott has already made it clear that tightarse won't sanction a permanent signing so it will have to be the wages and loan fee for a class player.
And before the disciples of Madejski bleat on about financial prudence, problems at Palace, Cardiff etc. the money is there in the form of the unexpected windfall from the FA cup run. Afterall, being such prudent and expert businessmen, Madejski and co would not have built that into their budget at the start of the season.
