I remember Division 2, with that painful Walsall game and the great stutter of 01/02 and stumbling over the line a year later. Probably around 10 Elm Park games as a kid, but probably more as a hobby than a supporter back in those days.

21.

Einstein agogo Judging by a lot of comments on here i am thinking there's lots of newish / young royals fans , who don't appreciate where we've come from.
Of course anyone who pays a lot of cash to watch their team has a right to critisize , I just feel older fans like me are a bit more patient and deep down would settle for a year or two in div one , rather than administration..

Your argument doesn't necessarily follow. It is because I am an older fan and do appreciate where we have come from that I am so incredibly frustrated at how it is all being thrown away. As Gooding and Dellor pointed out yesterday, if we do go down then it will have been one of the fastest slides ever. And to my mind it all stems from the time Madejski publically signalled his decline in interest by saying that he wanted to sell the club (in my experience, putting out a public statement in the media is not the usual way of kicking off the sale of a successful business).

And all these horror stories about the threat of administration are a joke - a bit like trying to control kids with stories about the Bogeyman coming to get them if they aren't good.

There is an awful long way between having even quite a sizeable debt and having to go into administration. I would wager a high proportion of people on this board have a very significant debt (it's called a mortgage!) but are a very long way from facing bankruptcy.

Half Man Half Biscuit This should be a classic gaussian distribution curve, where did all the bloody 26 to 35 year olds go??

Yes, you're right, it should be. My guess is that they prefer the RFC page on Facebook.....

I'm amazed that the dominant group are the 46-55 , i'm in the 36-45 group and so have seen quite a bit of RFC from the 70's onwards.
i was expecting loads of 20 somethings !
I also thought the majority of fans would be a group that got interested post SJM'/McGee/Gooding/Quinn

so my conclusion is that AGE has nothing to do with expectation

It's to do wether you were spoilt by your parents or not

I'm 33, living in Oz. Never been to a Reading game. It's on my list of things to do... would hope it to be an EPL game naturally.
I always have been a Reading fan & always will be. EPL or wherever. Worse thing about our current struggle will be from my side of the world absolutely no chance of seeing any matches or highlights.
My ritual on a Sunday nowadays is waking up & checking the net first thing in the morning & recently it hasn't been a good way to start the day. Been able to see the FA cup games & the wins have been great to watch though I'd happilty trade them for wins in the championship & to just read about them.
Though with us being relegated from the EPL I do get alot more sleep on the weekends :D

I think the dominant age group has noting to do with it, as you’ve surveyed the people who read Hob Nod and respond to these sort of surveys, not the dozen or so people who account for 90% of the posts and who (I suspect) have a different age profile.

Starting to come out of the woodwork now. I conjecture they were all out on this piss for the weekend while the middle-aged like me could find nothing better to do than nobbing.

I've just remembered that this is my second childhood so please disregard my under 10 and replace it with an over 65.

26 (female) and still remember being freezing cold when I was 7 at Elm Park. IT isn't about age if you can remember what it used to be like then great. Age shouldn't come in to it at all. At the end of the day if the team plays bad then people are entitled to their thoughts, after the 2 years in the Prem there are going to be some who started supporting then but do not like what is happening now.
