From what I see unless things change, this could be the start of a demise at Manchester United.

What ^ said.

Was it over half a billion pounds that they are taking a bond out on, or something similar to manage this ridiculous debt?

I hope the debt consumes them, I really do. I hate how money has taken over football. It matters more to clubs than supporters do now. Fans aren't really part of a club at the highest levels any more. Our little contribution makes very little difference now, and we're less important.

Our little flutter in the top flight destroyed my love for the game. Although exciting and feeling important and in the spotlight, greed consumed much of our squad, and suddenly we (the fans) didn't feel that closeness we had previously with the players. For me anyway.

Saturday's come and go now, and little more than a sigh when we lose another game. I hope that changes, I miss the bizz of looking forward to football, but at the same time, I don't care either these days.

I bet they wish they still had Tevez after tonights performance. A superb hatrick, especially the 2nd and 3rd goals.

Well, they aren't exactly at the top of the table, are they?

BTW, your recent struggles with cover for the defence doesn't show your squad to be the best, does it?

Name a team that has conceded fewer Premier League goals this season.

Victor Meldrew Time to retire Scholes,Giggs and Ferguson....and obviously Gary Neville?

3months later.
I suppose Man Utd achieved their sensible aim of the Carling Cup for this season by putting out their first team for the semi and the final-Fergie realised that they wouldn't get any more silverware although Chelsea have done their best to give them a chance in the league when they should have won it already.

Has Fergie lost the magic touch and the luck that has gone with it going back to THAT final in 1999?
Last Saturday he played the geriatrics and lost.
Last night he ditched the geriatrics and........they got knocked out.
How can you turn a top striker costing £30 million into the shadow of a player that he now is?
Poor management?

Still they do have Obertan,Gibson,Wellbeck and the Brazilian twins who have all been described by Fergie as future stars.
Poor judgement?
As ever time will tell but time really does look to have caught up with Scholes,Giggs,Neville and Fergie and they should probably all pack it in now with most of their reputations intact and look back fondly on 2009/10 as the year when they triumphed in the Carling Cup.

I think Fergie went into the season a forward light, and he's still not got the midfield to enable him to play two upfront without leaving the middle of the park a bit weak.

That's why Berbatov hasn't performed for Utd. He needs to play with another forward, and definately NOT upfront on his own. He also needs to play every week so that you get the best out of his good games but then you need to put up with his ineffective and sulking poor games. That's why I think he's better as a big fish in a smaller pond.

Rooney has been that good this season that he's carried Utd at times. Not because of his goals as much as he does the work of two upfront (as well as get the goals).

The rest of the squad is still a bit weak though, and if they were playing under any other name but Man Utd (and without Rooney and Ferdinand) plenty of teams would fancy their chances against them more than they do now.

Have they got the money for the ever-impending squad rebuilding?

If Manchester City qualify for the CL, it would be very interesting who'll they'll persuade to join them.

midfield looks very light now that Fletcher is running on empty - and the old guard aren't being trusted in the big games now
