kebe celebration

by fester_royal » 15 Feb 2010 16:58

i may be reading just a tiny bit into this BUT when bambi celebrated his 'blink and you'll miss it' goal on saturday. did it seem like he was giving the east stand a message?
he ran straight over with hands cupped behind ears (the normal gesture for when a player has recieved a fair bit of stick).
has the penny dropped? has some passion finally been installed in the man?

Hopefully McDermott has told him how he should perform and how the fans want from him. He is certainly a better player since McDermott's taken charge. I do love when a player proves the fans wrong! It benefits boths sides! :D

Quite right too - Reading fans are on his back to a ridiculous extent, just itching to have a pop at him.

Bambi? I've been calling him Marmite for the last couple of months (you either like him or hate him).

Cupping his ear in the general direction of the twats who constantly slag him off? I do hope so.

Yep. The typical loud moronic minority who decide they dislike someone and then just shout abuse at them no matter what they do and what point of the game it is.

for any one of our players to recieve audible boos and groans when his name is read out before the game is a fecking disgrace.

no wonder the guy is nervy.

its on a par with the awful booing of JM with the "where has all the money gone" chants etc

That was his best game for us for me, he was involved, busy and even made a few tackles.

He's so skinny I wonder if it might be a genuine concern he might break his leg going in for tackles, which is why he's a little lacklustre at times.

He took his goal pretty well by all accounts, nice touch away from the defender and then finish under the keeper.

He's so bloody quick, someone should just show him a few videos of Gilkes to show him how to be an effective winger at this level.

Boot it, run past the defender, cross it.

If I'd been stood next to him I'd have been calling St Johns Ambulance - I'm sure he was having some sort of seizure.

Jesus, that's just perversely bad camera work. Was he trying to make the audience sick?

Yeah, good on you Jimmy - that was your 4th or 5th goal in 70-odd appearances in 2 years and you give it the big'un, come back and do that when you aren't flattering to deceive . Exceptionally cool finish, but then we saw progressively less of him over the next 63 minutes and 50 seconds as usual until he was substituted. That said, Kebe should be an absolute shoo-in for a place in our XVIII these days, although that is just as much to do with the huge decline in playing standards since he first joined us than any vast improvement he has made.

Fair point. I thought it was because he'd shut the West Brom fans up when they were just getting into their stride with the singing. I was very glad he did too!

Flattering to deceive eh? What about McAnuff?

Starts 52-01 Sub 19-02 Goals 6 Assists 13 Kebe
Starts 21-04 Sub 00-00 Goals 1 Assists 07 McAnuff

So McAnuff scores 1 goal in 25 games, Kebe gets 6 goals in 54 (20) = "57.3 games"

1 goal every 25.00 games McAnuff
1 goal every 09.33 games Kebe

So Kebe scores at virtually three times the rate of McAnuff and Mac is being touted as POTS.

But a reasonable man like yourself Floyd can surely realise that the critiscism he has taken from some has been a little excessive?? Especially when you consider the hero status that players like Leroy have retained...

This season Kebe is a goal every 8 games, same as Howard
and more than three times better than McAnuff

Church's goal makes him look a whole lot better at a goal every four games, and that's a STRIKER

So Kebe's stats stand up well

ST sub PL goals G/G AS
11 08 12.33 05 02.47 02 09-10 0222 Long
22 03 22.50 09 02.50 06 09-10 0225 Gylfi
05 07 06.17 02 03.08 01 09-10 0278 Noel
18 09 19.50 06 03.25 01 09-10 0293 Rasiak
20 05 20.83 05 04.17 00 09-10 0375 Church
15 06 16.00 02 08.00 02 09-10 0720 Howard
14 13 16.17 02 08.08 02 09-10 0728 Kebe

That is the worst YT vid I have ever seen. Did the camera owner have Parkinson's or something?
