Maguire
Big Foot

Superb, I'd love to get a picture of that put on canvas to hang above my bed 8)

It's great - he's hands down my favourite player.

Love it. That has to be one of my moments of the season NB: I wasn't at Liverpool

That was my FB Profile pic for a couple of days too

Unfortunately Mr Kebe i like many others at the time were going a bit mental and didn't see you do that.

Those still entering the ground and on the concourse missed the goal and celebaration. Proves you have to get to your seat on time for kick off.

From the comfort of Y24, I initially thought that he was doing a Heskey style "DJ celebration" but the ear cup is beautiful 8)

Kebe proving his point then telling his detractors to phuck off, superb

How did he prove a point? He still trips over his own feet. My girlfriends 1 year old dribbles more consistantly than Kebe.

I do like the player tho. Bit of an enigma, you get to your feet when he starts running with the ball, but this is usually follwed by sighs.

Sarah Star Fair point. I thought it was because he'd shut the West Brom fans up when they were just getting into their stride with the singing. I was very glad he did too!

Maguire Quite right too - Reading fans are on his back to a ridiculous extent, just itching to have a pop at him.

+1

And just why is that? Is it because he pulls out of a 70:30 tackle when it is in his favour? Is it because he very rarely delivers a decent cross? Is it because his overall decision making is pants? Oh no. He is a genius who scores a goal after 9 seconds. Get a grip guys. He has it in him but we just don't see enough of it. That is why he gets the grief he gets. Nothing more, nothing less!

lol at that being enough to deserve stick from your own fans
and lol at ignoring the tackles, tracking back and generally improved all round game under mcd

its you that needs to attain grippage i think

Fezza I've been pretty impressed by Kebe this year, when ever I've watched he's tracked back and made a nuisance of himself when necessary.

If there was one thing I'd like him to change it would be that he always seems to cut inside. Just once it would be nice to see him go on the outside and tear the defender a new hole.

Thought he was much more committed than Gunnar who just seemed to wander around the midfield unable to catch up with anyone or indeed Bertrand who seemed to be at fault for the first goal.

oftemn he gets to the danger area ahead of otjher RFC players, and has to cut back to wait for the runners into the box

brendywendy for any one of our players to recieve audible boos and groans when his name is read out before the game is a fecking disgrace.

no wonder the guy is nervy.

its on a par with the awful booing of JM with the "where has all the money gone" chants etc

Nothing awful about the latter and I hope it makes JM nervy. During the good times, he was only too happy to call on us to praise him, coming out on the pitch and waving his arms like the Pope. if he can't stand the heat now that that times are tough he should hurry up and get out of the kitchen!

Agree with the point about having a go at the players though.

No.JM has done nothing more than try and make us a profitable, and well run club, and took us to the top flight in madjestic fashion
the boos were totally ridiculous.

Zammo
wolsey
Ellpryjon
Paul Brooker?

Michael Gilkes.

Kebe is what he is (and Gilkes was) - a slightly above average lower league winger - 60% frustrating, 20% thrilling and 20% match winner.

To say he is "one of the most useless players ever to wear a Reading shirt" says more about the poster than it does about Kebe.

Kebe 20% match winner ? Name the games and I'll agree with you. Oh, and don't ever mention Gilkes and Kebe in the same post again. Kebe is not fit to serve Gilkes a pre-match meal.

lol at that.

gilkes skied his crosses into the stand as often as put it in the middle.
asd much as i fecking loved him.

Gilkes was x10 the player Kebe is.

He could defend for a start, and repeatedly beat his man (fnarr fnarr). Crossing was very inconsistant, but Gilkes was class on the left. Knocking the ball past his marker and bolting past him. Kebe does that occasionally only, and more often that not confuses himself and conceeds possesion.

I cannot see the point of these comparisons between Kebe and Gilkes, wide players but completely different. So I`ll have a go.
Kebe can play on either flank for a start and can beat a man on either side. Very quick but he can trick his way out of tight situations from a standing start and can confuse defenders and the crowd by not quite falling over. Crossing, final pass and general decision making is piss poor.
Gilkes on the other hand was all left side, tended to beat his man on the outside using raw pace. Not the best but crossing was certainly better than Kebe as was the defensive side of his game.
See, pointless so lets nip this "run run run Kebe" nonsense in the bud. Besides he already has a song.

Yeah, good on you Jimmy - that was your 4th or 5th goal in 70-odd appearances in 2 years and you give it the big'un, come back and do that when you aren't flattering to deceive . Exceptionally cool finish, but then we saw progressively less of him over the next 63 minutes and 50 seconds as usual until he was substituted. That said, Kebe should be an absolute shoo-in for a place in our XVIII these days, although that is just as much to do with the huge decline in playing standards since he first joined us than any vast improvement he has made.

Flattering to deceive eh? What about McAnuff?

Starts 52-01 Sub 19-02 Goals 6 Assists 13 Kebe
Starts 21-04 Sub 00-00 Goals 1 Assists 07 McAnuff

So McAnuff scores 1 goal in 25 games, Kebe gets 6 goals in 54 (20) = "57.3 games"

1 goal every 25.00 games McAnuff
1 goal every 09.33 games Kebe

So Kebe scores at virtually three times the rate of McAnuff and Mac is being touted as POTS.

might just print that off a show it to the 6-8 guys who sit just behind me and slag jimmy off all day every day, regardless of performance or even if hes playing. even when he's warming up pre match they scream abuse at him. its sad that a reading player recieves so much negative attention. he may not be the greatest in our history but he still wears the shirt and for that deserves support

That's because McAnuff's overall contribution has been better than Jimmy's.

Big Foot Reading on Wikipedia that Kebe signed Jan 08 on a 2.5 year deal - would mean he's out of contract this summer?

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~1487142,00.html

Signed a new deal Dec 08 until 2012.
