I'm enjoying this run as much as anyone else, but am taking/analysing each game as it comes.

But a big fat LOL to anyone who thinks Big Mac is suddenly THAT much better then Rodgers was.....

These 4 wins have come against Barnsley, who Rodgers beat 3-1 at their place, Donny, who we battered at the Mad Stad and were only kept out by Sullivan having a godlike game.

We beat Plymouth, who also smashed a Big Mac led team a few weeks ago. More to the point had it not been for a last gasp penalty you're looking at a carbon copy of the Scunny game in which a Rodgers team only failed to win thanks to the Sig wasting 3 gilt edged chances.

Finally by all accounts Palace was a similar performance to the one a Rodger's side put up away at Sheff Weds.

Not that this makes Rodgers reign any less disappointing but in my eyes Brian has done well in the games that even Rodgers did reasonably well in. Whilst Rodgers made some howlers and I agree with the comment of trying 'run before he could walk' I'm utterly stunned that some people are suddenly thinking Big Mac is the messiah and using the last 4 games as a stick to beat down Rodgers with

Yeah, that Keynes - what a dullard, eh?

Actually I got the quote slightly wrong:-

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/John_Mayna ... Attributed

"When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?"

Philosophically, I would say that "Facts" plural can change. Fact 1 - first game drawn. Fact 2 - second game drawn. Those were the facts. Fact 3 - third game lost. No "fact" has changed, but the array of "facts" that inform my opinion has. But maybe we'll stick with Ian Royal's use of the word "evidence".

The point remains that those 3 facts still remain facts. They haven't changed. As I said I know I'm being all Spacey but Keynes statement is totally and utterly wrong, although I know the point you are trying to make (and agree with BTW).

Anyway - I'll not bang on about it anymore. Carry on.

Just as I was dismayed to see certain posters casting him as a useless idiot after his first 5 league matches.

Shall we revisit the points per game ratio again Royalee? Thought not.

The obvious thing though is that rather than picking 4 random Rodgers games McD has done 4 in a row, something the Rodgers team never came close to doing.

They have also been a part of an extended run of games with probably only two set backs.

I agree that things are looking a bit imbalanced in Brian's favour and it is right to redress things, but i think there has been a significant change in approach since the bald man took over

The man is in a different class to Rodgers.

Rodgers baffled both the fans and the players with his bizarre ramblings.

McDermott talks common sense, makes sound tactical decisions, doesn't over-complicate things, and makes great substitutions. His handling of Kebe last night was really impressive.

As Jay Tabb told a group of us on the Reading-bound platform at Clapham Junction last night (strange, but true), McDermott just keeps things simple and the players appreciate and respond to that.

Long may he prosper.

Comparing all league games and only league games

21 games 21 points = 1.00 points per game = 46.0 point season RODGERS

09 games 14 points = 1.56 points per game = 71.6 point season MAC

25.6 points more in a season? 46 last season was relegated 68 was 8th, and Mac would be on for almost 72

That is a helluva statistic

Please don't take this the wrong way. I enjoy looking at your stats but at the end of the day 98.2% of them are irrelevant.

I think the point is that it's not sudden.

Clearly this is a case of Rodgers being a total jurkhoff who should be tied to a tree and whipped repeatedly

I may have laughed out loud at that. :|

Ideal
Spot on, Rodgers was unable to convince the players that he had a plan worthwhile following.
Hence horrendous results followed.

McDermott seems to be able to sufficiently motivate the players, the very same players that Rodgers publicly said were not good enough and that he was looking for "the right players"...
Clearly this is a case of Rodgers being a total jurkhoff who should be tied to a tree and whipped repeatedly, while McDermott is a top man who should be doing the whipping.

Lets just see if we have avoided relegation at the end of the season before even attempting to make a judgement call. The team seem more motivated at the moment so thats fine by me. McDermott seems a more passionate man on the touchline and more involved with less spin which helps matters.

Being unemployed should excuse him from being whipped............................. at least until those in front of him at the job centre have had their turn.

That's interesting. I always understood a fact to be a piece of information about circumstances that exist or events that have occurred. It would be difficult to argue that Thursday is a circumstance or an event so I'm not sure it's technically covered. But I see what you did there.

My argument is that a fact cannot change only historical context changes. By its very definition a fact cannot change as it wouldn't have been a fact in the first place.

I had absolutely no confidence in BR or Reading FC which is why I stuck a few bob on for us to get relegated.

I now have confidence that we will stay up. The turn around in the players'performances is one I did not forsee. Long may it continue.

As I mentioned to Royal Rother on Saturday, Keith Scott has his players at W&E playing to a style that the players can cope with, understand and do well with. BMcD is doing the same. BR didn't. He had his bumper book and that was that.

And tomorrow never comes. Tomorrow will always be precisely that. Tomorrow.
