Arch
Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Heard from a number of people over the weekend that Warnock is gonna get the job.

Bit of on odd one.

Not really. They need to stop dicking about and Warnock doesn't dick about.

You've used a certain word there a lot Arch.

Something you wanna tell us?!

I just think Warnock would have his pick of jobs at this level.

Barry the bird boggler I thought Colin had said he wants to retire and settle down and that Palace would be his last engagement.

No that was Sheff United. Oh.

Hmm, even though the local paper said the players and the new chair didn't want another manager. Oh well, journalism is obviously dead in west London, sigh.

Working for free until the end of the season, steering the ship until they're out of administration.

Preumably Colin will have arranged for his backroom staff to move with him. Keith Curle and is David kelly still with him? Who would be left at Palace to take over, Ray Lewendon?

Does make it likely someone coming in that knows the club like Sir Steve.

SSC is far too expensive - and far too shrewd - for a club in administration.

So, we paid Steve so much while he was in charge of RFC that he can now afford to manage CP for free... *facepalm*

He was a player at top flight level and an international and has amassed over a 1000 games as a manager. At least 3 seasons of which were in the top flight. Of course he's got plenty of money.

And for Palace (and maybe us) it's conceivable (just about) he'd take a short term contract on low money to help the team out if he thought it would be good for him and good for the club.

I forget, when was a top flight player again? I assume it was in the days that they were paid £100,000 a week? And, he retired at 27. But he's rolling in it.

That being said, it's not inconceivable as he does still love the club, and Simon Jordan (who he wouldn't work under) isn't there anymore. But, would he want to go with the chance of relegation? Remember, he won't be able to add to the squad (even if there were money to do so) and speaking to a Palace fan at work yesterday he feels they've just not got the quality anymore.

Said on Five Live this morning he has turned down the Palace offer. Hart is being touted.
