Anyone but England

by soggy biscuit » 24 Feb 2010 20:37

A company selling "Anyone but England" T-shirts for this year's World Cup has rejected suggestions it is racist after police in Aberdeen visited its store.

Ross Lyle, from the company, said: "To be honest we're absolutely flabbergasted.

"We have been selling this T-shirt for the past three months and we've had a great response

Can't see anyone bothering top produce ABS t shirts.

If the Celtic fringe wants to wear this sort of thing then let them.

... And how's Northern Ireland?

for the record, and quite frankly i'm tired of saying this, not all people in Scotland dislike the English. There is a small minority yes, as demonstrated by the people making these T-shirts, but that minority is no larger than the anti-Scotland brigade in England. The average Scot is actually pretty humble, and wouldn't wish any ill fate on England, in fact many are probably impartial. Every country has it's knuckle draggers but they don't define the national psyche.

Scottish birds are great. Much nicer than their English counterparts.

It's just a joke, a bit of fun for people up there. You really have to wonder at the total mess this country is in though when the police have time to do stupid things like that.

ScottishRoyal ... And how's Northern Ireland?

Lovely thank you.

FTR I've had no trouble with being English here. The only country I've ever felt that being English was a problem was unfortunately in Scotland. Maybe I've just been very unlucky but that T-Shirt would appear to confirm the experiences I've had north of the border.

Cant agree with that at all SR.

only been to Scotland a few times, 1st time i was given a ton of verbals and spat for having the sheer nerve to speak. that was totally non football related, just trying to get a cab from a station. 2nd visit my coach had bricks thrown at it. In fact, i would go as low to say Scots on their own patch rank only just above Wales.

Never found a problem with any Scots either here or in Scotland, mighty friendly bunch I've been able to have a laugh with at each others expense - but then perhaps I've just been lucky

Female officials have been criticised by managers in the past, with Luton's Mike Newell claiming in 2006 that woman were unable to keep up with the pace of the game because their vaginas were not aerodynamic.

I'm sure anything the Daily Mail has to say about this would be far funnier than any saltire, sorry, satire.
