Awesome, unbelivable night to be a Reading fan and this team has already given us two memorable nights to remember this year. I thought we played alright, the formation was spot on to nullify the footballing threat West Brom posed. Thought Jay Tabb had his best game in a Reading shirt, and we've now got a great tie to look forward to.

You could accuse Brendan Rodgers of many things, but one thing you could not accuse him of is being a lucky manager. McD has had injury time equalisers against Bristol City and injury time winners against Plymouth in the league, whilst in the cup we have had a lifeline in injury time against both Liverpool and WBA on their own grounds now and a late winner against Burnley. Perhaps he earns his own luck by making conistently logical tactical decisions; HRK on as a fresh extra time sub stretched WBA almost to breaking point and played his role in us winning this astonishing tie.

Not the greatest performance ever and some (Griffin, Ingi and particularly butter-fingers Federici) were below par but again they played with plenty of b*ll*cks and kept going until the end even after a couple of very decent chances had gone begging. Memorable night and this club deserves a overdue cup run and we now have a big day to look forward to on Sunday week, win lose or draw. Must mention again over-zealous stewarding from trumped-up thugs in orange jackets who quite disgracefully attempted with some vigour and force to prevent our players celebrating with some of the best behaved supporters in the country.

Good to see Kebe prove the doubters wrong again with a goal and an assist. Also, how did Scott Carson play for England? He parried EVERY shot on target and was lucky that the ball fell to the West Brom players most of the time.

It had everything!! Many chances, facing heart break, late goal, wonder strike, one of the most celebrated goals I've had as a Reading fan, knob head stewards threatening to fight after the game both fans and players.

Its still an absolute blur to be honest, and hasn't sunk in!! To that twat 'Assistant head steward', you sir are a oxf*rd of the highest order!

The Football Association will investigate a mass post-match melee involving Reading players and Albion stewards at the Hawthorns.

But the Baggies have defended their stewards and insisted their stewards acted “properly” in the incident after the final whistle.

The FA have asked Albion for video footage of the aftermath of last night’s FA Cup fifth round replay, which saw Royals players and Baggies stewards involved in a confrontation.

Reading manager Brian McDermott accused stewards of over-reacting in an incident that was triggered, when Reading’s Jobi McAnuff was sent off after the final whistle for violent conduct in a clash with Albion’s Youssouf Mulumbu.

FA spokesman Scott Field said: “I can confirm that the FA will be reviewing reports of incidents that occurred during the West Bromwich Albion versus Reading cup tie at the Hawthorns last night.”

The FA will study video evidence from ITV and read referee Lee Mason’s report before deciding whether to act.

An Albion statement this afternoon said: “West Bromwich Albion are confident our stewards acted properly in a difficult situation after the final whistle. The FA have requested a copy of the ITV video of the game.”

McAnuff was sent off after the fifth-round replay for allegedly grabbing midfielder Mulumbu, who had kicked the ball in frustration at the final whistle and hit McAnuff.

Witnesses claimed McAnuff grabbed Mulumbu by the throat and the Albion player was then held back by a steward and later ushered away quickly by staff, but his team-mates did not appear to be involved.

Stewards attempted to keep the pair apart and McAnuff reacted angrily, prompting Reading team-mates and other stewards to become involved in a shoving match.

The melee continued as stewards and players jostled when stewards attempted to stop Reading walking to the Smethwick End to celebrate with their fans.

McDermott said: “We were trying to celebrate with our supporters, and the stewards were making it worse. I have had an apology from one of the stewards, which I appreciate, but I didn’t understand what happened.

“It didn’t need to happen. If stewards are coming towards you you have a problem. It was just a mess with a lot of stewards coming on the pitch. I don’t know if it was necessary.

“There was so much going on and the stewards definitely over-reacted but it didn’t taint the night.

Referee Lee Mason, of Lancashire, confirmed McAnuff was dismissed after the final whistle for violent conduct but declined to comment further on the post-match incidents

What an unutterably foolish and head-in-the-sand statement that is. Although the very first steward on the pitch acted properly in seperating the two players, what happened after that was unproper in the extreme. If there is any sort of sanity to prevail from this, their "confidence" should prove to be very misguided. As for comments made elsewhere by sour-faced Baggie poor-losers, the member of the coaching team seen to be piling into the melee was from Albion, not Reading as they would want you to believe.

What a night. Im now back at reality at work.

Last night made all the crap i have seen worth it, for that moment at the end, wouldnt swap that memory for anything, i remembered walking out early when we got well beaten there earlier in the season.

Was amazing, i was at the top near W.BROM fans, and they were taunting us when it was 2-1, was thinking to myself if we score they are their for the taking, as there big guns were no longer on the pitch, and they didnt look very confident. Went mental after Howards strike, was amazing.

What can you say about Sigs goal, incredible strike, was immense.

Anyone see Kebe giving the w.brom fans a cheeky `w****r` sign at the end, they were slating him, and he smiled and gave the sign, what a legend.
