finbarr Just on a point of law......for how long after the final whistle does the ref still have jurisdiction over the players? Or is it something to do with being on the field of play?

Had the same thought, could the ref come into the showers and book a player for nasty tackle?

Or going in from behind? Oo er....

Would you get sent off for getting ur cock out to celebrate a goal?

Just a yellow would suffice imo

Yellow presumably, for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Although the police might want to have a word about indecent exposure.

I suspect that it would be adequately dealt with under the 'use of foul, abusive or offensive words or gestures' clause.

I think it goes beyond the catch all yellow card offence under 'Unsporting behaviour' of showing a lack of respect to the game.

The footage is up on Reading World or whatever it's called..

WBA player kicked ball from about 6 yards into Jobi's back. Jobi goes over, WBA player pushes him, Jobi grabs him. Officials only saw the end of it. Logical conclusion, that the West Brom player would also get a red card as they both deserved it.

I should imagine we'll get fined for failing to control our players (the Reading Wolrd footage conveniently stops before the brawl) and you have to assume that West Brom would at least get a ticking off for the way their stewards acted.

To be fair to Jobi and if your report is taken at face value he may be a little unlucky. The push is probably violent conduct, grabbing hold of someone isn't necessarily so. As it's on video you'd expect them to take action against the Baggies player and perhaps there is scope for an appeal (although I'm not sure how long you get to put an appeal in).

I'd imagine you;ve got until the suspension starts - which unfortunately for Jobi is this Saturday.

Only saw the stewards/players incident.
A particularly aggressive black steward was dragged away by one of the other stewards as if he might have lost it or overdone it.

As for McAnuff he becomes another Reading player to get a red card unnecessarily-provoked or not.
The players need a good talking to about behaviour and petulance-the rest of the season is going to be hard and we need as many players as possible available every week.
What a dampener(the stewards fiasco and the red card) after one of the great nights in our history.

to be fair, having a ball slammed into your back from 6 yards and then getting a shove in the chest is pretty strong provocation, and whilst successfully appealing a red would be hardwork, you can understand the reaction in someone massively pumped up from a huge result... if not necessarily condone it.
