i know the stewards very well who "guard" the away team coach, reading players were telling them to f-off when they came out after the game, the stewards told them to get on the coach and leave but mr mcdermott and his coaches had to be pushed onto the coach after they kept shouting from top of the stairs of the coach. i dont know if any stewards took jackets off but sounds like the reading players and offcials were total 'kers!

Fair play Howard for some straight talking. He's certainly going the right way about winning over the fans with some nice quotes (I liked his nudge to the Chairman the other week to sort the managers position out as well).

I'm sure there are two sides to the story, but it sounds like something the FA do need to look into but as Dirk said, it's nice to see the players getting a taste of how fans are treated week-in week-out.

I would guess they mean pushed down the coach to get into their seats and stop shouting from the top of the stairs.

You of all people should accept that not everything people will write makes 100% sense and you need to read between the lines and use a bit of common sense to piece things together at times.

The stewards have to protect the officials at the end of the game and clearly some Reading players were out to attack the officials plus one of the coaches (Nigel Gibbs) seemed to want to lay into the stewards.
I also don't like that fact that they keep bringing Mulumbu into the spotlight to try and cover up McAnuff's antics.

I'm not sure it reads as the stewards doing the pushing, I would imagine that, as in most situations like these, there were a few on either side giving it the large and then a few more on either side trying to calm it down. My reading of it would be that it was the other Reading staff that were doing the pushing down the coach not stewards.

That could be totally wrong of course, but that's how it usually works in handbag moment like that. I really don't see the big deal, men like to get a bit punchy at times, it's life!

Unfortunately although Reading are largely in the right here I think an F A enquiry cannot bring us much good news as I think the F A may feel they have to support the stewards appointed by the home Club, publicly at least. I think the onus should be on West Brom to ask the Company concerned to instruct their stewards to be less confrontational but the stewards at West Brom have taken an aggressive approach for quite a few years now so probably won't change.

The camera for the video on Reading World doesn't appear to show Jobi committing any red card offence but switches away from the incident before it is complete so I cannot see we can prove he didn't commit one. What the video does prove is that Mulumbu was unbelievably fortunate to escape punishment especially as the pictures also seem to show that the Assistant Referee who instructed the Referee to show Jobi the red card appears to have seen the whole incident right from the Mulumbu volley. If the F A include that in their enquiry surely Mulumbu should get some punishment.

I am slightly worried though that Jobi's reaction after being shown the red card could also come under scrutiny now that the subsequent events have highlighted the post match events.

Although Bikey would obviously have windmilled the fcuk out of any of them, i'm sure a few of them must be fairly handy. They are super-fit professional athletes after all.

I'm saying the stewarding was questionable and the FA should look into and deal with it because it wasn't right and proper.

I don't think we should get all petty and try and score points by taking silly revenges like stopping their players applauding their fans next time their at our place. I think that's quite childish and doesn't really solve anything does it?

I also don't think you should jump on little bits of a third hand account posted on a forum as being factually inaccurate (especially when your not an eye witness yourself) and should apply a little common sense when reading them.

If I were personally involved, I'd probably be quite riled by it for a while, but if it wasn't sorted out at the time, there and then, I'd just get on with life and leave it up to the powers that be to sort out until the next time it happens and sort it out then.
