That has been one of my biggest beefs with the modern game. The players have become out of touch with reality. Wages in the region of £10,000, £15,000 and £20,000 per week for ordinary footballers creates a totally false economy. The players are in a coccooned and sanitised world of their own. Years back, it may not have been uncommon seeing the likes of Trevor Senior with his missus doing the shopping in Savacentre or Kevin Bremner out in the town centre during the week with his wife and children. It is nigh on impossible to identify or associate oneself with footballers these days. They are no longer "normal people".
Dick Habbin's hairdo For me ~the~ iconic RFC shot is either of the two showing Friday's goal against Tranmere.
One that is missing from this collection is Kevin Bremner's almost horizontal diving header away at Newport when we set the wins from the start of the season record.....
Am sure someone will stick it up.
I have that photo. I will scan it and post it up later.

There is a photo of the town end when Reading played Preston about 82? The lowest ever league gate. Becouse of the rain there were only about 6 people huddling under brollies. Sums up what was at the time a real low point in the clubs history.

The downloadable ones are only available with the added logo for some reason I just can't seem to work out or grasp....

On the contrary, I saw Dean Morgan shopping in Asda, Lower Earley when he still played for us.
Can't get much more down to earth than that ...
