So your birth prompted the end of the 13 match winning streak that season - call yourself a fan

Being a 1st August birthday there was nothing on the actual day and only friendlies since.
My wedding day was a disaster-we lost at home to Bury.
My niece was married on the day we lost 7-5 at Doncaster.
My other niece is getting married on 20th March when we are away at 'Boro so I fear the worst.

BTW my children were brought up properly-they both married out of season

Arch
savage 4 england England v Ireland :|

Lineker and Sheedy scored.

June 11 1990. I remember it like it was yesterday,

Worst game ever.

Three days before my birthday, a thumping 4-0 home win over Exeter, old division three. Then following my introduction to the world we lost the next three games 3-0 :|

2 days before mine we lost 3-1 away to Barnsley. 5 days after was a 3-0 home win to Bradford.
Old 4th division but what have Soccerbase got MK Dons' name in there for?

Are they re-writing history?

No actual game on my DOB but RFC played Hayes in the FA cup only a few days later. I have got the programme from this (no idea how) and two stand-out points are:

Robin Friday lining up for the opposition

The first sighting of the elm tree badge (defintiely the best crest we've ever had)

My birthday is late May, so it falls on or about the play-off finals. For example, only days after my 18th birthday, we lost to Bolton. You may remember that one.

Closest fixture to my date of birth was 14th May 1977. It was the final day of the season and we defeated Grimsby two-nil, sending them down to the 4th Division and leaving us in the forth relegation spot, only one point shy of Portsmouth.

So, when I came into the world, we were in the lowest tier and playing at Elm Park. It’s been uphill pretty much all the way since then.

No need to thank me.

Stooper Turns out we beat Hudds 2-1 in an FA Cup replay on the day I was born.

I didn't know that 8)

That was a cracking game played on a freezing night, with a howling gale. Keepers deadball kicks were being blown back to them. Only time we played the ball out from the back in 20 years ! Senior scored the winner, but i always remember the late Dean Horrix hitting a thunderbolt down wind from 45 yards. It was still rising when it scraped the bar.

Reading didnt have a game on the 7th march 1977 as it was a monday.

Reading did however beat portsmouth on the 5th march.

Reading 2-0 Portsmouth

Heres hoping that Reading win the QF of the FA cup on the 7th march 2010...

We played the day after my birthday.

12/01/1991
Preston 1-2 Reading

We finished 15th in the Old Division 3 8)

A league which saw us, Fulham (21st), Preston (17th), Wigan (10th), Bolton (4th), Swansea (20th), Birmingham (12th), and Stoke (14th) compete.
