sandman I would think it's pretty obvious that when you lose from a winning position on national tv that opposition fans won't let you forget it in a hurry.

floyd__streete So very typically Reading isn't it. Lead in a big game and totally choke. As soon as the first Villa goal was scored everyone in the whole ground knew that we were going to lose.

It's the Reading way I'm afraid to say. You know it, I know it. Build the hopes up, only to be shot down in flames. Today was not Our day, 1 day soon it will be.

Sorry it was Charlton at home I was thinking of for some reason. They equalised to make it 2-2 with 5 minutes left, but we didn't give away a 2 goal lead.

Arch So much more painful than getting three spanked past us in the first six minutes and then spending the rest of the game trying to claw it back.

Man Friday How did we ever win the Championship? That was so unlike Reading not to cock it up.

Dave the rave Let's be honest here.
Everyone knew O'Neil was going to give them a rocket at half time.
I'd be questioning BM's half time talk. Clearly the players weren't prepared for the initial second half onslaught.
We got caught cold and that's the main frustration for me.
Naivety from the manager and players cost us the game and nothing else. Apart from that 10 minutes we were the better side.
Shame about the pen as well. Ref obviousy had to give it but if ever a player went looking for a leg to fall over...

The karma has always been balanced out in the end, much the same as it does at any club
Promotion in 86 - > Relegation in 88 despite knocking out several Div1 teams in the Simod Cup run.
Promotion in 94 -> Relegation in 98 despite being midtable at xmas and in a Cup QF, beating the likes of LOLeeds
Promotion in 02 -> Not really a choke but the fact we didn't win the title after so many draws, not to mention the ballsup at Cardiff the year before and the Forster injury at Wolves in 03 and the choke to fall out of the playoffs in 05
Promotion in 06 -> Relegation in 08 despite again seemingly being safe around midseason, and having it in our own hands until the last day.
Damn you footballing Karma But what that does show is that we've been lucky enough to celebrate 4 promotions a cup final and 2 playoff finals in the last 25 years, that's not bad going really.
