PlasticRoyale

At least he used two fingers. Had he used the finger i'd have sent him off - we're English stick with tradition

Yeah but look at the ref's left hand almost the same gesture just facing down, no action will be taken

In fairness, the ref got it wrong. I watched the game, and Gerrard's tackle was spot on. I would have to say it was the most inept performance I have ever seen from a Liverpool side. Looks like Benetiz has finally lost the players. He is on borrowed time.

I hope Gerrard is stripped on the England vice captaincy after that incident. It's no way to be a role model.

So was he actually flicking the V at the ref, or is he just saying "that's twice now..." or something along those lines.

It doesn't look like he's flicking him the V to me, but I've only seen that one pic above.

As for Rafa, I do hope they get rid of him but I'm not so sure they will. I bumped into some Scousers coming back from their defeat to Arsenal the other week. They were still 100% behind him.

The only reason I can see for keeper him is that without the off-field stuff being sorted out it won't be too easy for a new man coming in to take control.

No fan of TMD and his Manyoo fixation whatsoever, but that is a funny headline.

Despite going down 1-0 at Wigan last night, Liverpool still have their noses in front in the race for that much-coveted final Europa League spot.

Frankly I'm longing for Liverpool not to make fourth. Europa League again, losing money hand over fist, losing Torres and a few others, not able to attract top players and then a few seasons in mid-table having to make do with the money that most of the others have to. Finally breaking the big four up is the important thing - and Villa, Citeh and Spurs don't look like they could get in there permanently like Liverpool more or less were, so there could be interest each season.

I think, importantly, Villa and City are backed enough (but not stupidly so) so that missing out won't cripple them but they'd be able to have another go the following season.

Quite funny article up to a point but any credibility disappears with the last bit suggesting that Arsenal would struggle to qualify-as I see it 5-0 turned out hardly to be a struggle and Nasri's goal was the sort that you can't see any English squad player scoring.

Joe Cole has the trickery to carry off Nasri's goal from last night, ditto Rooney.

The good thing is that the Premiership is certain to be more competitive next season-it looks as though a team winning the Premiership will no longer go unbeaten or lose just a couple of games.
The fact is that a team like Man Utd,although unlikely this season, could still win it having lost an amazing 6 games already with Liverpool and Chelsea still to pla again.

As for Liverpool it's time for Rafa to have a word with Houllier and discover that if you have such good attacking players as Torres and Gerrard you don't go to Wigan looking not to get beaten,in fact you don't go anywhere looking not to get beaten and as for one of the best midfielders in world football in Mascherano you don't waste him by playing him at right-back.

Rubbish-they might beat one player but neither of those are nimble enough to go past 3 or 4.
As for Joe Cole actually beating one player this season, that is debatable.
You believe too much of the hype that is in our papers m8.

Until Rafa goes and the ownership changes hands again Liverpool are a sinking ship. Next year they'll be in the Europa League and could well be without Gerrard and Torres as a result.

They've had nothing but poor managers since Dalglish left and in recent years the transfer dealings have been largely pathetic.

Compo's Hat This time last year Liverpool were beating Real Madrid 4-0, how times have changed!

The crazy thing is not much has changed. It seems Liverpool minus Xabi Alonso = shite.

It seems as though Real Madrid minus Alonso has the same effect.

Got to say a massive LOL.

All that money they've spent!

Having said that, they'll probably turn it around in the 2nd leg in one of those special European nights.
