FiNeRaIn Mills 5 - passing was pretty wayward and didn't inspire the defence as much as recent games
Ivar 4- does the basics wrong consistently, the crowd hold their breath every time the ball goes near him. Why is he even playing when we have ZK?

no idea how you can give mills more than ivar

mills distribution was, yet again, shocking. Could have put the ball out for a throw in but choose instead to clear up the line onlyto give possesion back to Derby whike he was way out of position. This led to their goal.

Mr Angry It still amazes me that people watch football who clearly haven't got a clue what they are seeing in front of their eyes!

For anyone to say that kebe was poor or disappointing is frankly unbelievable!

I totally agree, but you've been reading this board for long enough to know that it's home to the most ill-judged and wayward"opinions" going.

Having gone 25 matches without seeing Reading win, I was amazed to find I walked away from the game bored as hell when a few weeks ago I could only have dreamt of a 4-1 win.

Sending off killed the game as a contest and the rest was played out in real tedium.

readingfc13 yet I hardly noticed that Howard was on the pitch. I confess I haven't seen has many games as others of late, and Howard has been getting a lot of praise, but I just don't really see what he brings to the side that someone like Matejovsky could not. All of the charges aimed at Matejovsky (giving the ball away, poor in the tackle) could quite easily be said of Howard.
Hallelujah! Someone else with the EXACT same opinion as me, have said it the last few games and will say it again but what does Howard offer that Matejovsky doesn't? At least Matejovsky would play the occasional killer pass and with Long and Kebe (perhaps even Church) on fire and with pace to burn, let's bring him in for Howard for Saturday please.

Mr Angry It still amazes me that people watch football who clearly haven't got a clue what they are seeing in front of their eyes!

For anyone to say that kebe was poor or disappointing is frankly unbelievable; his first action was within the first minute and, despite having 3 players around him, was able to put over a perfect cross to find a free Sigi who headed over when he should have at least hit the target; from then on, for pretty well the rest of the game he was giving their left back a total reeming. I guess scoring 1 and getting assists on 2 others IS disappointing............

Excellent result, but left feeling oddly short-changed; 6 or 7 would have been a more realistic score for having had 17 attempts on goal. That having been said, we have played better this season and lost, and lets be honest, during that horrendous run last Year we would having given our Grannies away to have seen 9 league goals in 2 consecutive home games!

Agreed

Snowball Kebe was stunningly good first half, almost a ten.

As well as his goal and assist he put in at least four brilliant crosses that should have been tap-ins.

He was MoM for me, closely followed by Tabb

Agreed

'greed with you both, though Kebe wasn't quite as impressive second half which whilst perhaps understandable didn't detract from the fact it wasn't his best.

I can't remember feeling quite so bored after a 4-1 win before, was amazed at how many people left with 7-8 minutes +inj time to go :D

'greed with most of the stuff said above, especially about what an anti-climax the second half was. Even with Savage in goal they had the classic way that 10 men always play and we naturally found it hard to rbeak them down, maybe we took our foot of the gas a tad aswell? we won't see a much worse pen than Shane's but in his defence he was stood around for ages waiting to take it and that's never a good thing, apart from that another good game from his self and the other h8 figure Mr Jimmy Kebe (legend)

Other thoughts, Jay Tabb is fantastic, Ivar wants a rest, Sig wants to get back in the middle (that's 2 poor games on the bounce from Gylfi) and considering I fully expected to spend the post match period bitching about Robbie Savage being a bitch I was amazed to find myself clapping him off at the end, well done, you're still a big girl though

Sigurdsson looks like he needs a goal tbh, was pleased to see him initially have the ball for the penalty til Shane took it off of him

Oh one more thing - I see people describing the Arsenal lad's goal as "lucky", "flukely", "a poked finish" etc.

Thought it looked a pretty skillz finish from where I was sat if i'm honest.

After what we've had to suffer at times this season, I'm amazed that people were bored and/or disappointed last night. Given how we folded on Sunday straight after the break and that it's notoriously difficult to adjust mentally to being a man up I was ready for a nervy first 15 of the second half. But we rode that and killed the game comfortably enough in the end.

Tabb, Long, Kebe all now join Gylfi, Ryan and (just) McAnuff in my PoTS shortlist. We're actually not a bad team now, are we?

Agreed, he was a real threat all first half. Had Bertrand chasing shadows a few times.

I really wonder what people expect.
Mr Angry Excellent result, ......... having had 17 attempts on goal. ...........................we would having given our Grannies away to have seen 9 league goals in 2 consecutive home games!

Bath Hoops If you read some of the comments in here you'd think we'd lost not won. Give the team some credit especially after playing a difficult game on Sunday the performance was excellent, yes we lost the plot for the first 15 minutes of the second half but also give Derby credit as they were obviously told attack was the best form of defense. 18 points from a possible 21 . Long looks fit and like he wants to play, Kebe is without doubt a revelation and fully deserved the player of the month. I'm enjoying coming to the games again and all credit to the team for getting their act together.

The first goal was class, played up, laid off, then 3 quick, incisive passes, and a cool finish by Long.
Derby equalised completely against the run of play, which knocked us back for a few minutes, but once we got our noses in front, there was only going to be one winner. The result would have been no different even without the sending off.

Stop over analyzing, enjoy the ride, or have you all forgotten what a truly tedious groundhog day 2009 was.

Kind of the Sidwell role - harrying midfielder but also adding something going forward. Set up the Kebe goal and also won the penalty/sending off. Can see why he was such a hero at Coventry and am really glad he's getting a chance to play in the team. Seems to be the model professional. A bit of a SHunt before his Ego exploded ...

I think Tabb is a better all-round player than SHunt ever was

Looked like the players spent most of the second half saving themselves for saturday TBH. First half was very good, second half was thorughly mediocre. Tabb and Kebe were excellent, and Mills shackled Hulse pretty well, all in all a routine victory against another shite side.

Play-offs aren't out of the equation yet.....

Just because we did a job didn't mean it can't be boring  mowing the lawn is a job well done but I'd hardly call it thrilling :D

Yeah but we were scoring goals - that's like next door's twenty-something daughter and her friends sunbathing topless in front of you as you mow the lawn.

After going very nearly a year seeing only 1 win in 30 odd games, my record since 23rd Jan is 7-0-0. It is, indeed, a funny old game.

When feeling a bit bored in the second half and disappointed that we weren't creating more, I had to remind myself about what is was like a couple of months back and to just be extremely grateful.

Wimb Well that was interesting.

Deserved to win of course, but can't help but think it should have been more. Long's penalty was awful and their keeper was quite unlucky to be sent off.

Kebe was at times amazing and other times quite awful :/ but when he's hot right now he's finding the net so no complaints.

Lots of players seemed to go missing in the second half but can't blame them for switching off after the 3rd goal.

Otherwise alright, my only major gripe with Maccy D was why bring on Gunnar?

Anyway, 3 points and the run continues .o/
